you thnk we are going to only sign 2 players and one horrible qb being part of the 2? and blue is 2nd round material not 3rd.

I am probably in the minority, but considering the large amount of cap space and the difficulty we'll have in replacing Madison, along with the fact that Sam played very well at the end, I think we keep Sam. No need to restructure, because we will plenty of cap space.

Living in the real world, guys like Clements will not be available and Sam is as good as any CB's that would be available, not to mention he has a year in Saban's system

Josh McCown is not a horrible QB. My guess is that you've never really watched and studied him. He is young, strong-armed, and a guy with great upside.

Lawson is projected to go in Round 2 because he only weighs about 235 lbs. He is a 'tweener, but perfect for us in the 3-4.

oh, i've heard higher. My bad.

Josh McCown is athletic enough to a 360 in air before dunking a basketball.
Just a little non football related item about him.

Holy crap. I knew he was a good athlete but a 360?

As for your Sam Madison analysis, think about this way...

Your absolutely right, we can't get a better corner for the 2m we're going to get for cutting him. After June 1st, we won't have the cap room nor the availability to get another CB either so forget cutting him. He's a perfect veteran to teach Poole and Daniels how to cover...

if we sign lecharles bentley, C, (which would be great) do we really need to resign mckinney?

Note: A lot could change between now and draft day, but I'm thinking because of Lawson's weight, he may be there in round 2 and safeties are often undervalued in the NFL, so I'm hoping Blue is still there in round 3, but he might not be.

It would be nice to have McKinney, who played well under Houck, as a solid backup. We would be set at the important Center position for several years. Hadnot could then develop at RG, probably his best position because he is such a great run blocker.

Remember, Bentley was a pro bowl guard in his first year, so bringing back McKinney gives us great versatility and depth in the middle.
