Dolphins football operations boss Bill Parcells made it pretty clear at his introductory news conference he was none too thrilled about the previous efforts of former strength and conditioning coaches Matt Schiotz and Brad Ohrt.

Both were brought in by previous coach Cam Cameron and quickly were shown the door at the end of a season that featured 16 players on injured reserve.

Parcells was fixed on making an impact in the weight room, and that apparently is happening already in Davie under the supervision of new strength and conditioning gurus Evan Marcus and Dave Puloka.

Parcells wants the foundation of the Dolphins forged in the weight room.

Several Dolphins have commented that this is the most strenuous weight conditioning program they’ve encountered in the NFL or college. One player, who said he always considered himself a workout fiend, admitted he had no right to think that way until now.

But the program’s most inspirational aspect might not be the regimen set forth by Marcus and Puloka.

It appears to be Parcells, who has made it a habit to quietly roam the weight room on a regular basis, not saying much … just watching.

Parcells’ dreaded glare has created what many insist is a much-needed edginess.

That's damn good stuff! Really brings to light how weak some of previous regimes were when it came to their Strength and Conditioning Programs.

Or that Parcells weight regimes are too strenuos...

With Parcell's roaming the weight room, he pushes the players to do a couple more reps with his presence alone. Looks like were gonna be in game shape by training camp!:d-day:

I don't know about that. What I do know is there was something wrong with the way we were going about training having so many players on I.R. I am all for seeing this tactic through and watching the results on the field. I'm impressed!!!!

That's a good to hear. The key to this teams sucess, or any other for that matter, is staying healthy throughout the season.

oh man, to be a fly on that wall when parcells walsk through the weightroom. Must feel like an episode of Playmakers every time.

Awesome stuff, I hope it reflects in the play this year. You know alot of the guys know if they mess up there gone. I would not want to be Mauia and have to explain myself.

Nice change of pace from a softie like Cameron

Work Out Warriors

This is interesting news from the Palm Beach Post. The Dolphins new strength coach has these guys pumped and it is the most intense work out program they ever had. The Tuna wanders the gym and doesnt say much just watches. I thought he didnt want to coach? This is pretty interesting because there hasnt been much out there.
