Let's address the drama first: Yes, as I reported on NFL-AM and the Mike and Mike Show on ESPN2 this morning, there is a contingent of Dolphins players that are unhappy Chad Johnson was cut. They believe it unfair and some, specifically Karlos Dansby, have said as much publicly. But I must also report there are multiple players that are either quite happy or ambivalent about the move. "This is a solid lockerroom we don't need no clowns here," was a text I got from one such player early this morning. So I wish to convey a fair view of what the lockerroom is feeling. It's not everyone disagreeing with coach Joe Philbin's decision and certainly not everyone signing off on it either.

Glad to see calmer, more reasonably-thinking heads prevailing. Philbin didn't embarrass him in front of the national cameras, but did put him on notice that he was on thin ice. This should serve as an instructional occurence for the players who may be deluded that there's no bite behind Joe's soft-spoken demeanor. Had to be done.

hartline was the happy one it gives him one more week to stay on the roster

This move needed to be done. How often do you see a player on one of the elite football franchises get into one of these situations? Can't have players like this if we are going to get back to winning championships!

Not sure how Chad Johnson can be defended...

It clearly sets a tone and sends a message:

There isn't an "I" in team and if you give me that "there isn't a "we" either" bull**** "you" will be out the door. NY8123 approves of this message!

I've posted it a number of times around here, it was never a given that Chad would be around for Game 1.

He dropped an easy pass on Friday and looked to be hesitant in the face of contact in an inter-team scrimmage the week before.

He may very well have been cut later anyway. This way the younger and rookie WR's get more practice reps. It's all good, except for Chad.

I bet his, 'soon to be' Ex-wife is happy as well. She gets an easy out in an obvious mistake just like Ireland and Philbin. :d-day:

I think some players are just upset that they lost a friend on the team, rather than being upset that he was cut for unjust reasons.

Good....you **** up your out, i dont give a **** who you are, now your locker is open too..............

It had to be done now they have a game ahead on Friday.......time to move on.
