I like what I have seen out of Henne. The kid is smart, resilient, has a cannon for an arm, and a true leader. With that said, I truely do think our playoff hopes rely almost entirely on his arm.

If we have any shot to make the playoffs, Henne has to play at a Pro Bowl level. I say this because of the teams we have coming up. Tennesse and Pittsburgh have very stout run defenses, so the passing game will have to be key in beating those teams. Houston will put points up on our D, Henne has to be able to get us at least 30 points for that game.

I like what I have seen out of Henne and I really think he is the real deal. The final stretch of the season will give us an idea of how great he really can be. Henne is essentially a rookie and has answered the call to lead this team. In his ten starts he only has 8 TOs (8 INTs 0 FL). He has completed 59% of his passes, only taken 19 sacks in 10 games, and has won 7 of 10 games. Ricky has been a large part of that offensive success (25 points per game), but he already has 115 carries in the five games since Ronnie got hurt. I don't know about you guys, but I noticed Ricky was a tad slower in the game yesterday and it looks like the carries are getting to him a bit.

Since we play two very stout run defenses, I can envision Ricky getting less than 20 carries a game for the rest of the year. If that happens, look for the coaches to have Henne throwing 35+ times a game. In the 5 games where Henne has thrown at least 30 passes, he has 7 INTs. So, in order to win a playoff spot, we need Henne to step up big and virtually play mistake free.

I know our D has been playing better of late, but we face three very good offenses and you can expect to see points put up on us. The fact that we can't wear Ricky down too much, our OL has been great in pass blocking, and our WRs have started to step up and that is why I think our coaches will put our playoff hopes squarely on Henne's shoulders. It is just my opinion, but this is what I really see happening. Even with his past struggles, Henne has grown up a lot this season and I for one like our chances if we have to rely on Henne.

What do you guys think?
