This really sucks for him. I thought the most interesting part was why he got pulled over.

Police stopped Holmes driving a dark sport-utility vehicle with out-of-state license plates. Officers in the area had been alerted that a similar vehicle was believed to be carrying a large amount of drugs. Holmes' vehicle matched the description but was not the one police were seeking, Griffith said.

If only he had a different car....

SUV.....Out of state plates...black....

Dude..You've got to be smarter than that. If you are holding, you need to be as inconspicuous as possible. I thought this was *Druggie 101*, as I was taught all of these lessons by savvy freinds in the trade at a young age, in a town of about 3K people. I left that life thankfully and got my stuff straight, but, dang...So stupid. It's not college anymore.

Even so, if he was driving erratically, or broke any traffic laws whatsoever, that would have been a much better case to pull him over. Then, out of sheer luck, another guy in an SUV which was nearly identical to his - had a lot of drugs in it.

I do agree with you on the fact that having an out of state license plate didn't help him "blending in", but I was always under the impression that you have to give the cops a reason to pull you over.

I have a freind who's a cop here locally. He says there are literally over 175 reasons why they can pull you over if they want to and be legal about it.
