where is the poll? but thumbs way up.. we can def see the team is already turing around, even tho a lot of ppl will attribute that to bp.. i think a lot of it has to do with the fact that tony is a players coach.. he loves his players and gets excited with them gets angry with them.. the man wants to WIN WITH THEM and im all for it
GO TONY!!!!!!!!!!

I don't give A+es so I went with option 2 :)

Actually, I think he has far exceeded my expectations AND he has room for a lot of improvement, so it was a tough call.

i think he's doing good myself...we all know there's room for improvement, but i think he's doing a good job so far...

That's what she said. :D

Too early to really be passing judgment on Sparano. He's a rookie HC and we're only at mid-season.

Truthfully, I thought the "too early" option was funny considering we are judging him "so far", which one would think implies "based on what we can tell from only half a season". But, without the "so far" caveat, I agree with you.

Tuna. Tony and Ireland.

Now THAT is the NFLs mafia!!!!!!

so yes im completly behind tony!!!!

Tuna is the don.
Ireland is the dons consiglierie.
BIG TONY is the dons main capo.

I think Sparano is doing a good job. The team looks a lot more excited about playing for him.

Triple the win total from last year. Seven games, already been coach of the week once and is nominated again... He's doing pretty well... Most of all, I like his attitude.

I would like to see him pull a Mike Singletary...

LOL.. you're right. I should have substituted "doing okay but I'd prefer some other HC".. Maybe next poll, eh?

We have won games with less talent than the opponent, primarily through good coaching. Wildcat innovations, getting the most out of his top guys( unbalanced line, Long next to Carey), getting the most talent possible on the field (snap to Brown, handoff to Williams, lateral to Chad , bomb to Cobbs!),Joey Porter a probowler again and being allowed and encouraged to be the emotional leader. Bills stacking up to stop the run, so he unleashes Ginn downfield. Players excited to play for the guy, loving the accountability and knowing it's production that gets them playing time (Camarillo, Bess) not when they were drafted (Ginn, Hagan) or how much they're paid (Wilford). Also knowing they'll be given a chance to prove themselves and work their way back into the lineup (Ginn, J. Allen).

Yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Pulling a "MIke Singletary" would be an awful thing to do. I like a stern and hard-nosed coach, but you can't go and call out a player the way Singletary did to Vernon Davis. Don't confuse what I'm saying here. I think what he said to Vernon Davis on the sidelines was fine. That's the kind of coach I want, but I don't want my coach dragging that stuff in the media.

Whether people want to realize it or not, agents run the NFL. Agents in the NFL aren't going to send their players to play for a coach who is going to slam them in the media the way Singletary did Davis. They just won't. And players aren't going to want to play for a coach who will roast them in the media in such a fashion.

Consider that the NFL puts up 3 HC nominees weekly for the vote.. so in 8 weeks, Tony's 2 nominations constitute 8% of all the possible choices. Not too shabby for a rookie coach, although I do concede that his nominations are skewed by the "surprised they're doing so well" factor... but it is what it is. I think we've got a good one.

I am happy with what we have seen so far. He has full control of this team(Cameron never really had it) and he has the players playing hard. He doesn't have a tremendous amount of talent to work with, but he has made the most of it. I am glad we have Parcells/Ireland/Sparano running the show.
