What are you talking about??? Burrow and Herbert had lower YPG, lower passer rating, lower QBR, lower completion %, lower success %, lower TD %, lower YPA, etc, etc, etc. They were lower in almost every possible category.

I'm talking about both QB's seasons were shortened to injury therefore due to less games played the numbers you posted are as such.

That is why I didn't post any volume numbers in my response. Since they had lower passing yards per game, they still would have fewer passing yards than Tua if they played all 17 games. This is not difficult to understand. Same thing with all the other stats.

In whatever you considered his peak , he wasn’t close to a $50m a year guy. That’s insane. Seriously , not within 20-25 million of what he would have gotten on the open market

You could say the same for at least 6 or 7 other QBs.

Sad that Dolphins fans are convinced that the team cannot assemble a middling offensive line.
So you think Tua would be an All Pro level QB if only he had a better line?

You are really oversimplifying what most ppl believe about the situation.

Tua has a limited ceiling, IMO, regardless of what's around him.

Would the team be better with a better line? Sure, but that doesn't change the reality of what Tua is or isn't.

"Good enough" is the enemy of "great".

Are you saying because other teams make poor decisions, that it's OK that we do?

I hope not, because that would be ridiculous.
Followng Tua's 4th season, before he signed the big contract, most people here and the media talking heads were saying "pay him, pay the market price".
Myself and a few others here were saying "cut him or let him play on his rookie contract 5th year option".

Except they wanted to pay market price for a statistically good, but overall flawed product.

Most of those ppl now realize their error. That's what happens when fear and emotions affect decision making.

I will die on the hill that nobody would have given Tua that kind of deal on the open market. We should have forced his hand. 5th year option or sit out.

Up until this season, Tua has been a good enough QB with average to below average OLs. Tua has limitations. IMO, his skills have outweighed his limitations, until this season. If he doesn’t get it fixed, he will be gone. If he does, we have our QB, limitations and all.

IMO, it wasn’t a poor decision at the time.He was the QB of a top 5 passing offense. They were #1 in passing yards and #4 in passing TDs in 2023. They were even better when he was healthy in 2022. Those are just facts. You don’t have to like them but they are facts.

Good enough to win what?

Not trying to be argumentative, but his limitations are usually magnified against playoff caliber teams.

I realize it's a team game and fault cannot be assigned to one individual, but there's a large enough body of work and results to conclude Tua's limitations are not surpassed by skills in my, and I think, and at this point the majority of hardcore, knowledgeable fan's opinions.

Props for your loyalty but at some point, shouldn't common sense and the acknowledgement of prior results prevail?
