I'd take Frerotte because I think he is a much better passer even though neither one of them seems to have spectacular leadership qualities.

Does anyone else find it weird that all of our QB's names begin with an F? Maybe we will get Favre after all.

Fiedler was great when he was allowed to pass; however, his down fall came when wanny decided to play it safe and would only allow him to pass in 3rd and 7+ yards so #1 his rhythm was off and the defense knew what was coming at them. Too predictable to be successful.

I hate to admit this, but I have to go with Fiedler. I think he was a better leader than Frerotte, made better decisions, and was more mobile. Gus has a stronger arm, but is just an inaccurate as Fiedler was.

Doesn't it seem like our passing offense is much better this year then in previous years though? Frerotte was 4 yards short of 3,000 and had 18 TD compared to 13 INTs. Fiedler only broke 2500 yards one time and his best TD-INT ratio was 14-9.

Ferrotte .... 100% .... less INTs .... let me rephrase less INTs in crucial situations. Fiedler had a bad habit of doing that.... at least Ferrotte give guys the chance to make plays.. Thats what Fiedler sucked at

Fiedler never got close to the same number of attempts. In fact, the only year he got over 400 attempts (450), he actually got more yards than Ferotte with 494! Three hundred more yards on almost fifty fewer attempts.

Fiedler here was better than Frerotte was. Surprising, but true.

People hate Fiedler because he gets some of Wanny's blame. And people overrate Gus because they give him some of Saban's credit.

Gus was just terrible last year.

Dude, I agree with you. You would have to take Gus over Jay anyday of the week. I always said Jay was better suited for the west coast offense. He doesn't have the arm we need here in Miami to make this offense work. One thing none of us can argue with. It sure was nice to see the long ball back in Miami.

Jay Fiedler is a good backup for a team that runs the west coast offense.

Damn talk about the choice between two evils. Ugh hmm I take Fielder although both are backups at best. Fielder was a tough guy and even though I hated every game I saw him start, he was hampered by bad playcalling especially against New England passing it three straight times with Ricky in backfield. I would like to choose Sage over both of them since he rarely got a chance to play and did some good things when allowed.

Frerotte.
I saw, suprisingly, a lot more better things from Frerotte than suck Fiedler. Mabye it's because i'm caught in the I-Hate-Everything-Wannstedt-Did smokescreen

Well Ears best quality was his ability to throw accurately on the run. Gus can't throw too accurately in the pocket and is absolutely horrible on the run. But overall, Gus still has a bit of an advantage on Ears because of his less likelihood for the bonehead pass. That doesn't mean he doesn't, but while an INT is a killer anytime you throw it, it always seemed that Ears would throw the INT when the opposite team was getting or in the middle of a hot streak against the D...I can see it clearly now...we're up on the Jests by 10 points late in the third....the Jests get a pass interference call of 54 yards against us and get a TD out of it to close the gap to 3. Ears trots on the field after the KO and promptly throws a perfect pass to Vilma who returns it to the 4 yard line. They score the go-ahead TD and never look back...

Gus has accuracy issues and sometimes I think his physical skills are really diminishing, but for this offense right now I'd have to take Gus over Ears...Gus next biggest issue is that he is a statue in the backfield.

That said, I can hardly wait for the Gus era to be over...

Maybe it's the coaching that was with them that swayed my decision to Frerotte. Stronger arm for the deep ball but less accurate, more of a gunslinger type which I prefer. Fiedler was pretty tough but Gus less INT's and better coaching by far win it for him.

When Fiedler is under center, defenses put 8 man in the box and know that Fiedler can't throw deep. Then, our running game gets affected by it..

Frerotte got the arm strenght, so defenses cannot afford to leave the safeties up close, it opens up our running game....

I'll go with Frerotte even if our V.P is hunting next to me...

Gus, no question. He keeps the defenses honest...and I don't miss all the pick-6s.

Frerotte, we need the long ball to open up the run game, nuff' said. Though I wouldn't put Gus ahead of Jay by much. Just a smidge, for now. ;)
