The AFC East is off to a mediocre start. The New York Jets are 1-3, and the Miami Dolphins,Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots all are 2-2.

Which team will win the AFC East?

  • 81%
    Dolphins (2-2)

  • 13%
    Patriots (2-2)

  • 5%
    Bills (2-2)

  • 1%
    Jets (1-3)
(Total votes: 649)

Every division team has shown major flaws and inconsistency. Even the usually dominant Patriots have experienced poor quarterback play from future Hall of FamerTom Brady and questionable coaching and personnel moves from future Hall of Fame coach Bill Belichick.

That leads up to our latest "Poll Friday" question: Who will win the AFC East?

Will it be the Dolphins? Miami has plenty of talent, but hasn’t been able to consistently put it together. The Dolphins also need third-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill to come of age in order to win the AFC East for the first time since 2008.

Is it too early to write off the Patriots? Brady and Belichick have dominated the AFC East for a dozen years. This pair usually figures things out. Do the Patriots have one more run in them to get to the playoffs and compete for a championship?

Or will it be the Bills or Jets. Two talented teams with major quarterback issues. The Bills benched E.J. Manuel for veteran Kyle Orton, and the Jets are sticking with the turnover-prone Geno Smith.

well at least the publics smart enough to not be high on the kyle orton addition...

Just voted. New England is now 53%, Miami is 27%, Bills 16%, and the Jets 4% after 63,331 votes.

Pats are the team to beat. Be realistic folks. NE is know for playing better as the season goes on. Don't underestimate the Pats right now. (God I hope I'm wrong tho)

This team, and Tennehill in particular, is going to have to show some consistency to win this division. It is a long road, but we have to beat those teams we should and play like hell to win ones we shouldn't.
Like last year against Tampa and Carolina. Both games we should have taken. So it's up to the team and coaches to make sure evryone is ready to go before each game.

Thanks for posting Albert but that initial poll result was rediculous. Yes we have the same record as the Pats and a big win over them but history is on their side. They usually respond to adversity and we unfortunately have not.
Hoping this will change but at this point the Pats should still be favorite.

If we beat GB and Chicago and they lose the next two then you can call us the favorite but I believe they play the Bills and Jets after this weeks opponent the Bengals..
They could make themselve right again very quickly.

I'm okay with crowning New England the team to beat until somebody just goes out there and dethrones 'em.

Whoever wins the AFCE this year will win because all of the other teams sucked more.

I posted it up way too soon obviously, at least we're still sitting in second. Agree with Zounds though because of the hard schedules it will be whoever can maybe finish at 8-8 or 9-7 should win the division, unless NE turns totally turns its play around.

Well that didn't last long...

The poll Albert posted still has the Dolphins at about 80%, but that is mainly from Dolphins fans because it is Walker's poll, the one you are referring to is a more broader sports nation poll.

The AFC East has gone from a divison with one great team and three also-rans to a division of four also-rans.

Either Miami or NE will win the division; neither is going far in the playoffs.
