Neither.
John has had loaded rosters and underperformed. Before Lamar he had 3 seasons at 8-8. His Super Bowl win is great for him but was very lucky. Flacco made 2 throws against SD and Denver that got them the win, and nearly blew the Super Bowl to the 49ers.
Many Baltimore fans, die hards are happy over his release due to time management, poor decision making with personnel, predictable coaching errors...and understand he was an average coach in the perfect situation.
The way we view John is way different. We see him as a super bowl winner always in the playoffs with a great defense and physical teams...
But John isn't bringing Ozzie Newsome nor Eric DeCosta.
I think most dolphins fans are ecstatic over the removal of Grier, McD and Tua and are daydreaming over getting the Ravens system...he was fired for a reason...yeah he's had a ton of success that we certainly haven't had...but I'm starting to listen to the Ravens fans...he has 26 blown leads of 10+ points since 2008, the MOST IN NFL during that span, 18 blown 2nd half double digit leads which is the most by any coach in the NFL since 1991.
That's not who we think of him as...but it is who he has been.
