I am really hoping that JA has a breakout year. He will have been in the same system again I hope we see some big plays from him. I actually believe that he can become great in this league and I cant stress enough how important a safety can be to the team. As the last line of defense all great secondaries have great safties (i.e. john lynch, roy williams, ed reed, rodney harrison, etc.) these defenses are among the best in the league and the safties are a big roll. With his speed and 1 year under his belt he should step it up. I actually have hope for the guy cuz he seems like he can be BAD A$$ expecialy with his agility and quickness. so it begs the question.

How will JA do this season?

A. Great
B. Average
C. Don't Expect Much

B. or C. He hasn't showed me much so far. That doesn't mean he won't or can't, but I have no reason to think he will be above average. I hope he is however.

I think if he starts he will be good and bad. Somedays he'll have picks and some days he'll get beat. Hes very athletic and if he ever gets the mental part down he'll be very great.

he is a HAAARD HITTER and very fast. he has the potential just a matter of time not worrying what saban will do. I rem as aplayer whenever that feeling i had about the coach looking over my shoulder u think mor ehten u should n u dont play during the paly n u screw up. thats how it was with him. he was always worried bout taht dad over there. I think this year he will be loose n free to play the game.

He was slow to pick things up at UT. His team mates in the beginning were saying, "this guy is on scholarship?". It didn't take long to change their minds, as it won't take long here either.

The question about Allen, I think, is whether he'll play S or CB...while he is probably suited better to S since the hip injury (or at least that is what showed last year), he is fast enough and has enough moxy to play CB the question is his ability to turn his hips and cover receivers from the CB spot.

He'll do fine at S if he is put in there, but our needs at CB might be greater than at S, where Bell and Hill melded together pretty well. The CB position needs to be upgraded....

Time will show..I think think he will improve. so i gave him B. He didin't pla much, but during that playing time he didin't do much.

Hopefully he will figure things out....I was not too crazy about us taking him in the first last year, but maybe he can show he was worthy of early pick.

Ya at first when he was picked I wasnt too excited. Then by the end of the season I thought he was picking it up a little. Hopefully he keeps getting better.

It's the beginning of his second year.
I don't believe that anyone can adequately assess what he'll do yet.

This will be a big year for Allen and his career.
The rookie acclimation issues and challenges should now go out the window.

Believe it or not, I went with Option A.

The pass rush in 2007 will be straight up nasty. Matt Roth's been developing pass rush moves over the last two years that have made him gradually more dangerous and I look for his replacement of Kevin Carter to be an upgrade. Joey Porter's presence opposite Jason Taylor will be like the straw that broke the camel's back in the pass rush department. Once you have those two pass rush threats to take pressure off each other and good penetrators on the inside at DL, you can open up opposing quarterbacks for a whole lot of problems.

The secondary will collect on those problems. I guarantee we'll have more picks in 2007 than we did in 2006. Jason Allen has a chance at actually leading that charge.
