Besides getting a weaker schuedule next year, we would move up 4-5 spots in the draft with an 8-8 record vs. 9-7 record.

You play to win the game!
Especially, always play to beat the jets!

Not sure I care for how your worded our options.

I would always try to win. If you are going to have a winning culture....you actually have to win achieve that. So I would vote to beat the Jets as badly as you can. Use a tire iron if necessary and get arrested...but win.

I don't need to be a closet GM, I'm going to stick with being a fan and I want a winning record.

Don't care about next year yet I never want to lose to the Jets, I always want Miami to win

If you are a professional you play to win.. after all if winning does not matter why keep score?

I think we all want to win. As far as the draft is obvious that we'll draft higher if we lose so win win situation

A second place schedule doesn't mean much. You never know who's going to be good next year besides the norm. We're also playing the jets you know. Living in NJ I despise jet fans and want nothing more than for their team to lose EVERY SINGLE GAME. Unless they're playing the cheats.

Too many players auditioning for new jobs or to try and keep their current ones. They won't take the game off unless they think they are completely secure and have nothing to gain by possibly getting hurt. You would think Philbin would be extra-inspired to coach well and prove Ross made the right move by keeping him another year. You add all that together and how Ross decisions always backfire and I'm afraid we come out flat and lose to the Jets. I would prefer we go out on a high note, but this just seems how everything always happens once Ross gets involved and makes a decision on something. We lose, look horrible and his "I believe in Joe" speech makes him look like an idiot (again).

The Jets just took the Pats down to the wire and lost by 1 point. Miami was a total failure against NE 2 weeks ago. Advantage: Jets

The weaker schedule is essentially two teams that are different. In this case a 2nd place finish would have us play the Steelers where a 3rd place finish would have us play the Ravens...I think we've seen how we play the Ravens the last 5 times. I'll pass and take my chances against the Steelers next year.

The draft status would be the bigger motivation for losing imo.

If I were more confident in our GM that would be a valid point...but after seeing Ireland in action for 6 years and being disappointed and Hickey having only one draft to judge him by I'm not motivated by draft status.
