Mostly for those opposed to the selection of Ted Ginn over Brady Quinn, what would make this the right move in hindsight?

I'm not for or against any picks at this point, too early. But if Quinn is a bust then it really doesn't matter what happens to the other pics, IMO. However, if Quinn busts and Beck goes to the Pro Bowl that would justify the pick no doubt in my mind, regardless of what Ginn does. However, I think the finally report will be on whether Quinn is a bust or not.

I'm not sure what you're asking here. Do you mean what could we have done to make us drafting Ginn over Quinn OK? Or do you mean what would we have rather us done?

If it's the former, I'd say the only thing that could make it right would have been not talking about how much we as an organization love Quinn leading up to the draft, and how we would even trade up to get him because we like him so much, and all that stuff which got the fans hopes up (especially on the touchy position of QB which we have been looking for a commitment to since Dan Marino). Also, as far as drafting Ginn, trade back to do so because #9 is too high for him

If you mean what would we have rather done, I think round 1 is obvious for a majority of the people here, and that would be draft Quinn. Then I personally would have targeted Sidney Rice in round 2, as he is a speedy guy too, plus he runs good routes and has good hands (unlike Ginn). That was my ideal scenerio all along, Quinn in 1, WR in 2.

*EDIT* Nevermind, the poll wasn't there when I started writing this post. You never really WANT to see a player bust, your team or not, that's just bad sportsmanship (as much as we could have used Tom Brady being a bust ). I guess I will choose "other" and say the only way this situation turns out "right" in the long run would be for Beck to have better stats and more success than Quinn, and Ginn becomes a Pro Bowl WIDE RECEIVER (not return man), or at least a legit WR that contributes every game.

everbody here need to shut up about quinn he is a BROWN not a dolphin if he was a dolphin it would be ok to talk about him so shut up

Speed kills, and Ginn has speed to burn. Just watching him you can see an extra gear that has been missing in Miami since Duper.

What could make taking Ginn over Quinn "right"? Dolphins win the division or make the playoffs for the next 5 years.

I meant purely what would make it right as of now. I haven't seen one person say that they would be okay with not taking Quinn if the Dolphins had selected someone besides Ginn at #9. You need to have a trade partner to move down. And knowing Ginn as this team does, I suspect that he tipped off the Dolphins that Houston or SF was going to take him.

Does Ginn have to become great for passing on Quinn to acceptable? This draft will be a failure if Beck and Ginn bust. But passing on Quinn is only okay with me if he busts, or if Beck turns out to be the better QB, regardless of Ginn. Ginn may never be a #1 or #2 receiver in the classic sense. But if he doesn't become on the NFL's best slot receivers and a pro bowl returner, picking him in the top 9 will be a reach.

I chose other; the reason being that Cameron (who knows QB'S) said so. Cam said he never was able to teach accuracy. I trust the guy over all the arm chair experts that base their judgement on someone else's assesment.

Take his', an beat your'n Or take your'n and beat his'n Old Bum Phillips, he would be playing golf right now.

What makes Ginn, Jr. the correct pick in place of B. Quinn was the drafting of J. Beck in rd. 2.

Ginn solves 3 key areas (KR/PR/WR stretch the field). Quinn/Beck solve one (a young gun to groom).

Ginn improves the O immediately. He is an upgrade at Special Teams and he adds speed at WR (screens, crossing, or deep).

Ted Ginn is a angle eliminator players think they have a angle on him and he simply beats them to the spot. Makeing defenders look silly don't worry guys you got a good one. Don't let your bad experience with David Boston turn you off about Ginn. He has a unique ability to stop and get back to full speed in just a few strides. Also he had a toe injury mid season 2005 played thru it . The first real injury he had was the freak accedent during that td celebration.
