Active Roster
I'm curious for your thoughts because I'm not sure which to choose. There are four glaring problems with this year's team, and here's my rationale for each nominee:
FREROTTE - Looked good in the opener but has stunk it up since. Stares down receivers too long (a la F***ey), makes bad decisions (a la F***ler), and is inaccurate with the ball (a la Lucas). This line is protecting him far better than last year's did and he still can't produce touchdowns. I will be p*ssed if he is still our starter after today.
CHAMBERS - He had 6 catches for 69 yards and 2 TDs today. He also had at least three bad drops that would have doubled his yardage and added another TD. He has the gall to complain publicly that Saban called him "decent." The way he has played this season, that is being charitable.
LINEHAN - Earth to Scott Linehan: You have a good run-blocking line and two elite running backs. You have a crappy quarterback and a #1 receiver who can't catch the ball. So why in God's name when we have a halftime lead at home are you calling 30 passes versus 9 runs in the second half? And why are we still in the shotgun no-huddle when we need one touchdown to take the lead and have the ball inside New England's 25 with FOUR MINUTES LEFT? Linehan's scheme may be good, but his play-calling the last two weeks has been atrocious.
HOWARD - I know the salary cap prevents us from cutting him now, but can't we at least send him home and deactivate him for the season? #25 couldn't cover a receiver if you put a tractor beam on him, and yet we're trotting him out there week after week to pad other QBs' passing stats and point totals. I'm old, white, 30 lbs. overweight, and have 2 bad ankles, and I think I would do almost as well as that ***clown.
