With undrafted rookie Dan Carpenter apparently taking over the kicking duties from former special teams captain Jay Feely, the question is:

How many games will Carpenter cost the Dolphins in 2008?
 
Zero effect, we were going to go with Dan anyway so the office obversely trusts Dan. Feely is better then Dan but not so much better that it will cost us games.

No effect. It wasn't as though Feely was some great Pro Bowl kicker. He was decent, but also a self-center loud-mouth. GOOD-BYE!
 
I agree. No effect at all. Carpender looks like a capable kicker.
 
I put zero because you can't know what would happen with Feely's short kickoffs that would cause more losses than a missed FG because of field position.
 
I'm happy to be rid of his mouth....

How many games did the guy win for us last year??????

He allowed for a short field all season and with our less than stout D against the run it cost us.

I'll gladly take the plus 20 yards in field position kick offs with the new guy

Besides I hope the Trio's thought process is we "need to score TD's" to win in this league.... let's face it... we're not FG's away from a make or break season....
 
Well, Carpenter has a bigger leg. But i don't really know what to expect out of him yet. As long as he can make most his kicks under 50 yds it shouldn't have much effect.

How many games did we win b/c of Feely?

I know Felely did good for us last season but he still scared me in clutch situations, I like Carpenter and think he will do well.
