With a top Ten QB...We are a Super Bowl Contender...NOW.

Top Ten as in...Having any of these QB's:

1. Peyton Manning
2. Donovan McNabb
3. Tom Brady
4. Daunte Culpepper
5. Michael Vick
6. Trent Green
7. Ben Rothlishamburger
8. Brett Favre
9. Steve McNair
10. Drew Brees

I would say a top 10 O-line would be preferable.

With Ricky back and especially if we had a mobile QB from that group (or Peyton).

I don't agree with that.
It's not that simple.

I would have agreed with that statement the first couple of years we had Ricky but not now. (Of course it would'nt have mattered with Wanny at the helm but I wasn't absolutely convinced of Wanny's incompetence then.)

There are positions that need strengthening.
OL, D secondary and RB at this point with a rookie backed up by Sammy Morris can't be counted on as a strong point.

There is an entire new coaching staff and new systems on both sides of the ball.

To many question marks for this team to be a real contender this year even with a better QB IMO.

if we had the chiefs o-line we would be a super bowl contender...gus would look like trent green..and our two headed monster of ricky and ronnie would make priest and larry look like the b team

No, at this point are receivers are overrated. I believe they can get it together but right now there really not getting to open or catching the ball consistantly. When I see WR's breaking wide open and the QB missing them then I'll put all of the blame on the QB but right now that's not the case.

Last week in the San Diego Dallas game Drew Brees was under a blitz and he threw the ball up an his receiver, Eric Parker I believe, went up and made the play on the football while covered. We need our receivers to be able to make those kinds of plays.

wow, that is an inaccurate statement.

ricky+ronnie aren't at priest and larry level yet.

ricky will be fine. but ronnie isn't showing his best stuff yet. who knows when he shows it.

larry and priest will be best duo in the league til ronnie steps it up cause we all know ricky will be damn good when he comes back.

What can Trent Green do that Jay Fiedler can't?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Anyway, to answer the original question, I really don't think so. Wide receivers dropping balls and the play of the O-line are bigger concerns, I think. If Miami had one of the really mobile QB's, perhaps a serious play-off contender.

I am going to say yes. Not a knock on Gus because I think he's done a pretty good job managing this offense and the Offensive Line has been our biggest problem, opening up holes for our running game. If we had some of the QB's on that list like Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, Tom Brady, Daunte Culpepper, etc. that they'd be able to lead this offense like no QB on our roster or over half the QB's in the league ever could. Even without our O-line as bad as it is, they showed them could allow 0 sacks against Denver... I could see Peyton Manning leading this team even getting sacked 2-3 times a game with all the weapons he has on offense in McMichael, Chambers, Booker, Boston, Ronnie, Ricky, Welker, etc. Those weapons are just as good as his weapons in Indy in m honest opinion. I think with one of the best QB's in the league along with all the weapons we have on offense, our defense, and our coaching staff (Linehan, Houck, and Saban especially)... we'd be a Super Bowl contender. Not to say that QB is the only and main reason why were not a Super Bowl contender now, it's just that's what I feel Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb, or Daunte Culpepper could do for this team if given the opportunity. So my vote would be YES.
