Poole, Mitchelle, Daniels, Shulters, Jones, Free Agent, Draft Pick.....

Just looking at that makes me feel better about our secondary next year. Losing 3 starters (Surtain:yell: , Poole:cry: , Mitchelle:shakeno: ) from last years starting line up killed us. By the end of next season I believe our secondary will be lights out.:fire:

none of them are as good as sam and pat in thier prime. i don't think we'll be lights out but that's a solid secondary.

It all depends on who the free agent and draft pick ups are. At the very least we will be very deep at a position we struggled at this year. Poole was just coming into his own, then he got hurt. I believe he can be a premier CB.

who in the world is Mitchelle??? and from waht i see, it woulda been better to keep Jamar Fletcher, and dump Reggie Howard.

has anyone seen Mitchell play..cause i havn't

I saw him last year, he is very fast. With Saban coaching him and Poole we could see some these guys develop in great CBs

Schulters is a FA, and Jones is due a big bonus and 3 mil salary. Neither of them have played well enough to command a lot of money.

Schulters may come back if its another min deal, but he's been a coverage liability deep downfield, and has given up a few TDs.

Tebucky is good against the run, but horrendous against the pass. No way he sees that money for next year.

There are plenty of younger options out there for next year in addition to the draft. Archuleta, Tank Williams, etc

Mitchell is an UDFA rookie. He has been injured all year and was not in any nfl starting line-up last year. Madison is the other starter from last year and he has played all but one game this season. Mitchell is an unknown who will be coming off an injury so im not expecting much from him. Poole and Daniels sounds good to me with 1 or 2 new rookies. Overall, I feel much better about next years secondary too.

no amount of coaching can overcome 2 guys with severe knee injuries. Honestly, right now there's no way that you can say they'll develop into great CBs. Shirdonya may have lost a ton of speed, nobody knows. Poole may never be the same.

Next year, you cant just go into the offseason banking on these guys

what rd was mithcell? schooL? year he came out? info? sizee? height?

I am looking forward to seeing Poole come back next year. I hope he can come back at 100% and pick up where he left off in 2004. If he can fully recover, he WILL start next season.

Undrafted in last years draft, Saban picked him up as a free agent. He went to Missouri. 5'11" 190lbs. He was a speed demon with good cover skills who was projected to go around the 4th rd before he tore his ACL and LCL. His injuries may be too big to overcome but I think he's worth keeping around because he could end up being a starter. This reminds me of when Wanny saved a spot for Ogun to rehab and he ended up leading the league in sacks.

I know Poole showed a lot of promise, but who's to say he will be good after all his injuries?

It's only been one injury, with two surgeries. The main surgery to repair the knee, and a scope to remove scar tissue.
