Pope Enjoying Good Camp

It's nice to see guys picked as late as Pope was catch on. I'll be rooting for him as he continues his NFL career.

Yeah, Pope is starting to become one of my fav players because he never gives up. At first i thought that Pope would just be on the bubble for making the team, but now i think that he is a for sure lock on the team. Now Moore is the guy who is on the bubble if he doesn't perfrom. The only backups that i see that has a lock on the team are Crowder and Pope.

what is the mike and will position?

where did those names come from?

Mike=middle LB, will=Outside lb, where Seau plays..

MIKE=Middle
WILL=Weakside
SAM=Strongside

Thanks 2005, I started to do that, then thought, just make it easier.

So, does what Saban suggest mean that he sees the 3-4 as a situation where there are really two Sams, one Will, and one Mike out on the field?

pope can play no doubt about that im glad to see that he is finally catching on it's funny that saban recruited him while at lsu........

Our future LB's look very promising!

Hey, Pope is the same guy who shut down Alexander in the second half of the game in the last Seahawks/Dolphins game. Pope filled in for Zach when he had to leave in the second half of the same game. We're looking at one hell of LB there.

This has nothing to do with anything, but thought I would tell you all anyway. Last year at the Seattle game, I met Pope and Rex Hadnot. I was staying at the team hotel and went out to grab some food. Pope and Hadnot were grubbin at a Mcdonalds in an indoor/outdoor mall. Classic! Rex can eat! They were both VERY cool. Got autographs and a picture with both of them.

Suddenly we are deep at LB. Pope, Zach, Seau, Crowder, Spragen, and a few others i cant even think of. I think Eddie moore could be gone. I heard we have David Bowens, Fleming, and Roth (i think its Roth)learning some LB stuff in certain drop off situations. Very interesting. I have no clue what Saban has up his sleeve, but its something that is going to be crazy. 5 guys on the line and then the next thing you will see is 2 or 3 with guys flying all over the place. I cant wait to see it!

You might be thinking of Ronald Flemons, the DE....I didnt think we still had him, but i coulda been wrong. Nice to know Saban is teaching our ends some tricks of the LB trade as well, cant hurt and will make our hybrid D that much more versatile.
