I really don't think that the Dolphins will just hand him $1 million and will end up cutting him.

I can just see it now, the Jets getting Porter. Even though they don't need him imagine if he did get picked up by them?

What a mess that would be. The first game against the Jets next season would be crazy.

He would fit right in with the Jets but, "Cheezy" has already expressed his desire to be closer to home. NYC ain't exactly next door to Bakersfield, California.

You don't always get what you want. And I'm not saying this is realistic in any way. I'm sure if any decent team makes him the right offer he would consider it.

I KNEW SOMEOone would say jets/porter
who realy cares , honest
"think about it"

That's true, but let's just say if the choice came down to the Raiders or the Jets, Joey would probably be Oakland bound.

You think so? The Raiders aren't going anywhere and the Jets will be competing. Even though he wants to be closer to home like you mentioned that would be a tough call there. But who knows! If the Chargers gave him an offer that would be a bit different IMO.

I do. At this point in his career, he knows deep down that's it's coming to an end, and he probably doesn't feel like moving his family back and forth from coast to coast every season. Honestly, I think Joey wanted to play for a West Coast team when he got released from Pittsburgh, but Miami giving Porter all that money was too enticing too pass up.

Nobody at this stage of Porter's career will give him that same offer Miami gave him in 2007.

How quickly things change, a year ago at this time he was the toast of Miami.

Why in the heck would the Jests want him?

We do need pass rushers. Our pas rush is generated by blitzing, if we had 1 or 2 guys that can get to the QB w/ the exotic blitzes that would elevate the D to a dominant type of D. I don't know if Porter has that left in him but if so and if he came cheap it would be a worthy gamble.

Then they can put up "Joey Porter no sacks, no tackles" on the scoreboard after the home game:chuckle: I'm sure he would he would have diarrhea of the mouth before that game!

I wouldn't mind, then our TE can have a 10 catch 100+ yard game twice a year too!
