How cool is this?!

Almost two weeks after losing to the Dolphins 38-13, the New England Patriots keep getting hit down. Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter has been credited with a fourth sack from the Sept. 21 contest, tieing his career game high.

On third-and-3, at the fourth quarter 14:20 mark, Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel originally was credited with a one-yard run before Porter stripped him of the ball. Elias Sports Bureau determined that Porter forced the ball loose before Cassel reached the line of scrimmage, giving Porter a sack for no yards.

awesome... it says Porter forced the ball loose...so if he jarred the ball loose, it was a fumble, who recovered? it would be nice if they looked at the game tape and change the call again, gave us the ball and determined we would have returned it for a TD changing the score in the books to 45-13 :sidelol:
That was the fumble that Phillip Merling recovered.

3 games into the 08 season, Joey has just 1/2 sack less then he did in 16 games of 07. Here's even more evidence of how bad the coaching was last year. Why on earth would you take a player away from his strength? You're just asking for the player to under perform.

I gotta love all those here that thought Joey was trash. The guy has been a monster his whole career at getting to the QB! He has one off season due to being played out of position and he gets trashed. This is my biggest problem with people who live to hate, it takes so little to start the hate. It's really sad.

He's on pace for 20 sacks this year..:) Whats the record, 22.5..

Now that is funny. Joey Porter may be the first player in NFL history to record a sack during the bye week. People always joke about team's not being able to lose during the bye week, no one could have figured that a player could rack up stats.

Could this washed up(said by others, not me) Linebacker who in August had reports saying his career might be over because of injury really put together a Pro Bowl season? hmm.

Well, what do you expect? Most of the same ones claiming he was trash were the same ones claiming that Jason Taylor was "washed up" (despite being one year removed from DPOY) and that Zach was "finished" (despite his continued ability to remain the top tackler on the team). Thank god we don't have to worry about some of our fellow fickle fins fans for scouting talent, huh?

hopefully he can keep it up. Don't forget, he only had 1 sack before having ONE great game. although half a sack per game for the rest of the season would give hime 6.5 more sacks, putting him at 11.5 for the year. Hopefully he will bring more than half a sack per game though.

He's currently 4th in the league though, behind John Abraham, James Harrison, and Haynesworth who have all played 4 games.
