Linebacker Joey Porter stretched with the team, but did not participate during the opening segment of practice.

Porter, who has battled a few ailments (back, knee, ankle) during camp, left the field and did not return during the 30 minutes the media is allowed to watch.

I still think Porter is going to be a big part of this year's defense, but his constant injuries are running old. You can bet the coaching staff and Parcells are taking this in and will remember this come next offseason.

I think SuckerPuncher is released this next offseason. Pittsburgh let him go at just the right time, because his play is clearly declining. Yet another brilliant move by Cammueller.

This is becoming a big concern, He cant seem to stay healthy.

what a shocker that porter can't practice. :rolleyes2:

release this guy this offseason please.

they should have him sit out until the season begins. vets normally don't play much in the 4th game anyway. take care of the nagging injuries and get ready for the regular season. I can't believe that moron Cam gave this guy 20 million in guaranteed money to be hurt all of the time.

and play who? Charlie Anderson?

Signing Porter was not a very good decision, but they have him now, and when he's healthy he's good enough to live with. They should just sit him for the next two weeks and let him play when the games actually matter.

People need to stop blaming the signing on Cam. Im pretty sure Mueller was the gm and not cam. And also, I doubt Cam went out of his way to get Mueller to bring in Porter, hes an offensive coach, so it was probably Capers who wanted him.

it's called upgrade the position. porter is headed downhill fast. roth is going to be destroyed in coverage. moses is maddeningly inconsistent but has upside. anderson nothing to get excited about.

a 3-4 defense will fail miserably if the olbs can't win one on one battles and create pass rush. the front 3 is very good now these olbs need to make plays against the pass.

did anyone of you guys ocme to think MAYBE they are stretching him but not making him practice so he can get healthy for week 1 cuz clearly he was abig part of our D vs KC and clearly he was good enough to play and get pressure let alone a sack. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX PPL

when hes healthy, hes still not worth the money hes getting.

i keep hearing how good porter looked as a pass rusher against kc...i didn't see it. the sack he got was due to the coverage. the qb had long enough to make something out of oragami b4 porter got him.

i didn't see any sudden pressure at all from porter in his limited reps.
