joey porter said that he was interested in 6 teams or 6 teams wer interested in him. what are the 6 six and are we one of them?
 
From CNNSI. New England, Jets, Baltimore, Cleveland, Dallas, Miami, San Fran
 
I read on the redzone that he will be asking for over 5 million a year. If it is not much over 5 mil then that does not seem like a lot for porter.
 
i think new england will get thomas the lb from baltimore

New England is getting Thomas so count them out. I don't see how Baltimore could afford him when they let Thomas get away. I heard the 49ers have spent as much as they're going to on big name defensive free agents. They have already signed Clements and M.Lewis.
I read that Porter wants to play for either San Diego or Baltimore. I don't think either team will pay what he'll demand. I really think we have a shot at him if we throw a lot of money at him.
 
according to mark schlareth on espn, he has scheduled visits to cincinatti, cleveland and our fins
 
Joey Porter wants to stay in Cali

Hey everybody! Just wanted to send my fellow fin fans a shout out from Bakersfield, CA. As you guys all probably know Joey Porter is a Bakersfield native. Well, yesterday reporters were all over him in his bakersfield home and they had a chance to interview him for the local news show. They asked him about where he wanted to play and he said his goal was to stay in cali. When asked about the Chargers and 49ers he said those were definitely two teams he'd consider and that he'd take considerably less money from these teams to stay near home. He said he only saw himself leaving the state if the money difference was too big to pass up. Just thought I'd throw that out there guys. Local update.
 
he has no relationship with dom capers, when joey porter was 1st on the steelers dom was already in jacksonville

the one thing ESPN messed up on, Capers and Porter were not with the Steelers at the same time.

Capers left the Steelers to coach Carolina, and was DC(I believe) with Jacksonville when Porter was drafted.

Anyways,

The Pats are probably out since they got Thomas

He may be interested in SD, but he won't sign there unless he's ok with coming off the bench (he's not starting over Phillips or Merriman)

I can't really see him playing on another AFC North team espially Cleveland or Baltimore; I also doubt Cleveland signs him because they've got McGinest and Wimbley. Baltimore has got Johnson,Cody, and Suggs.

Dallas is a maybe, as is The Jets.
 
u guys gotta understand...when a player says "id like to go here, id like to stay here".....its nothing more than a smokescreen. for instance, if Joey Porter says "i wanna stay in Cali".....he says that ONLY so that teams like San Fran and San Diego go, "omg we have a shot at him! Lets offer a load at him cuz he wants to come so badly". thus...Porter gets loads of money. if miami offered him more, he would want to come to Miami so badly. thats all the free agents do...smokescreens.
