Blocking fullback, looking back at the Tennessee Titans superbowl run a few years back I looked at the impact Lorenzo Neal had on Eddie George's success in the ground game. Is a solid blocking fullback like Jacob Hester out of LSU what the ground game needs, maybe as much as big name tackles being thrown around?

Hester is too small to be a solid blocking fullback in the NFL.

Last year we drafted a big Samoan dude who has a penchant for running through walls and punching people in the face. I think he'll suffice for now.

If were talking FB, Owen Schmitt from WV may be the best i've ever seen.
That kid is a total BEAST, and will definitely be the 1st one drafted this year IMO.

But i would have to say an O-Line is tops on the list of importance to the run game.

i think mauia did pretty good as a run blocking back last year... his problem is his stone hands and pass protection

Exactly and Hester brings all that. I thought Hester was to small in college ball but he consistanly performed anytime his # was called, a real 1st down getter. Size is great, but I'm wonderin with blitz packages more and more calling for db's blitzing a smaller quicker fundamentally solid blocking FB with smarts would'nt be a good tactical move.

i think Hester is better with the ball in his hands as a FB than a blocking FB... id take Mauia as a blocker over Hester

But don't we already have the greatest FB in the history of the NFL?
