Okay well we all would love a new QB, but when you look at the realistic options and players to bring in and start over Gus, who really would be better fit in our offense.

Drew Brees- He has put up one good season in his career and that was a proving year in which he had to do a great job or would likely lose his position by week 6. Also he had a devasting injury, the same type that happened to Chad Pennington. We all know how "great" chad was after that.

Daunte Culpepper- He has had a few solid seasons and one incredible year. This season he looked pathetic and many NFL sources say that he may not be able to be 100% until mid season.

Aaron Brooks- He has done fairley decent but never has truley been an effective player. He makes way to many mistakes.

Steve McNair- This guy might be the best choice because he did extremley well, Co-Mvp in 2003, when he had some support. He hasnt done that well as of late because of his upporting cast or lack there of.

Patrick Ramsey- NO NO NO, even this season when he got chances he looked horrible. Its because Steve Spurrier basically ruined his career.

Billy Volek- This guy is going to be 30 next season. Do we wanna spend money on a guy that has never started more than a few games a season?

Kerry Collins- he still has the arm but his mobility is horrid and seemed last year even w/ Moss and Porter didnt get the job done.

Brees has had only one season that could be called bad. His past two seasons have been very good to great. He's only been a starter for 4 seasons. His second season as a starter was not so good. But we're talking about a QB who was young and still learning the NFL. He has hit his groove and has been a Pro Bowl caliber QB for the past 2 seasons.

Regarless of who we get, I think Nick and Muller should drat a QB on day 2.If we get Brees I'm fine with it but there're a few QB's that I'd look at in the 4 or 7th rounds(since we don't have a 5 or a 6)and would bring one in to develop.....why not try to find a good QB on day 2? We'd have nothing to lose at that point.....Macneal,Olsen,Betts are just a few guys we could look at on day 2.

Ozzy rules!!

IMHO, this order:

Brees - he's young, he's had two good years, and his injury is reportedly not going to be an issue

McNair - the Phins could make a run or two with him but they better have a backup and a young guy in place

Culpepper - he won't see the field until the middle of the season and may not be fully healthy until 2007

Ramsey - he needs his psyche rebuilt but if anybody can reverse the damage from Spurrier, it's Saban and his mind games

Couch - why not bring him into camp and see what he's got left? not like he was surrounded by support in Cleveland; like Feeley, a guy who needs another shot in a decent environment to see what he can really be

Pennington - he's worth having a look at if he gets released

Brooks - nah, he doesn't have the makeup of a champ

Collins - same as Brooks but with less physical ability and crummier mechanics

Finally, I'm with Danny about drafting a guy, but I think we can count Lemon as that guy for this year since he cost a 6th plus a vet QB. Still, the Ron Wolf philosophy about getting one every year seemed to pay a lot of dividends so might as well give it a shot.

pennington was noodle arm even before the injurys... everyone says he can throw a beautiful ball under 12 yards, anything more is a duck fart....

brees was young and got in a groove and has been legit since....

culpepper is WAY to much of a risk... he may never be the same

mcnair is a good qb when he has talent around him... get him a line and a running game and he will make somethings happen.

i dont even want to think about pennington, brooks or ramsey...
collins may not be the worst call.... but he's deff not one of my top qb's

and you guys are right, take a shot at a 2nd day qb, maybe we find a diamond in the rough??? ever heard of tom brady.... good call boys, i fully agree
