They looked like world beaters in camp going against Dallas Thomas and co. It was like going against a good teams second or third unit. They were never even challenged.

I'm not down on Suh like some. I think he's doing what we thought eating up blockers just no one else is taking advantage of it.

Wake's been injured so he gets a pass but OV has been invisible other than the silly penalty. Mitchell is very average and the rookie is the only one to find the QB so far (so we bench him)

I doubt Coyle has any answers other than dumbing down the play calling even more.

Off subject but McCain on the outside playing 10 yards off his receiver is a tempting target for any OC.

GM, poor roster

This isn't all on Hickey. I don't mind how he's drafted too much. He's found us good players, but free agency has been a mess. Not sure how much of that is his fault or falls on the coaches... He has ALOT of work to do (and still does) to retool the roster from Ireland. Can't do that very well in only 2 years, and I expect that's a big reason we've turned to so many short term deals on vets/injury prone players. Meant as quick band aids

I'm not giving Wake a pass. He was invisible for the second half of last year as well. He is getting old and unfortunately our window to trade him at a premium has closed. With that being said I completely agree with your analysis on why the DL is garbage.

Doesnt excuse going into this season with the corners, lb and line that we have.
There were fairly low cost options that could have helped us. Signing Mathis over signing Jennings for one. Nobody forced them to sign Pouncey long term this season. We could have used free agency to actually fill holes instead of blowing the whole wad on Suh.

Never said they are garbage just soft from going against scrubs in came. OV had his way with Fox and Suh probably went half speed going against Dallas and the rook.
Heck Fede was a monster getting sacks every practice.
They just don't look game ready to me which is unforgivable.

Hopefully they play much better in London.

We definitely need them to play better. Putting some pressure on Fitzpatrick will create some turnovers which we desperately need.

Lazor and RT have injuries on the O-line which are obviously causing them problems.

The defense has no excuses.

They are poorly prepared and played even poorer.

It is on the DC and head coach and the quality control coaches.

They have been out coached in three games so far.

I am a life long jest hater, but part of me is pulling for Bowles.

I am sick & tired of watching & listening to Coyle & Philbin already.

Can not blame you brother.

I'm not there yet but another game like this one and I want everybody fired.

There is definitely a problem with the coaching, but where is the Ray Lewis of the defense. The DC for the Ravens did not make that defense great. Ray Lewis made it great. He motivated his teammates. There is no doubt that the coaches bear the brunt of the responsibility, but the veterans on this team have a black mark against them. No leadership!!

Delmas was that guy and they really miss his fire.

Middle LB should be a priority next draft and I want a fire breather.

Agreed!

Retain Starks
Resign Odrick
Target Orlando Franklin (guard and swing tackle)
Sign Mathis
No Jennings

We may be better off right now. At least on offense.

It seems to me that the "sleepwalking" and "no heart" play could be related to conditioning. I feel like we are simply getting manhandled because we showed up to the season opener fat, lazy and out of shape. This team was anointed in the offseason and believed the hype. Now they are getting worked. I'm guessing we'll be in playing shape by maybe week six, but by then it could be too late. The coaching staff hasn't failed by "keeping players motivated". Any professional athlete should have motivation built-in. They are born competitors. But when they show up out of condition, it's on the coaches to expect more, and on some players who thought they were good enough to wing it. The result: 1-2 and playing like a steaming pile of garbage. Shula always had the most in-shape well conditioned players on the field. No go back and watch the game film from last week; missed tackles with no drive, blown blocks, running out of bounds. This team isn't lazy, they're gassed. Rant out-
