possible ways to get into the playoffs.

I'm the most optimistic person ever, and i never stop thinking about playoffs until we are out of it. I know it's a longshot, but i am analyzing the situation and seeing what we need. First, we must beat NE week 17, so we have to assume we do that.

If NE loses to BUF next week, and we win we will be only one game behind. However, they still have a better division record. they will have to lose TB, or @NYJ.

If NE wins, and we win the only way we make the playoffs is simple. We win throughout, they lose throughout. They clinch the tiebreaker with a 4-2 division record and essentially and go up 2.5 games.

If NE loses, and we lose. That would make us 2 games behind still,but they lost @BUF (division game). We would have to win out, and they would have to lose out for us to get into the playoffs for SURE. They can actually beat TB and lose @NYJ, if that were the case then it would come down to the tiebreaker common games.

If NE wins, we lose.

We are offically eliminated from playoff contention.


In short, a Loss and NE loss is actually better than us both winning i THINK, but if they lost and we won it would be HUGE. If someone can verify it could be great. Not sure if all that is right. I'm pretty sure it is, if im wrong please correct me. I typed it all in 10 minutes.

It's basically a long shot but I'm rooting for it to happen as well (unlike a lot of people on this board that want to throw the season for a high draft pick). Let me tell you, winning games and creating confidence makes you better and grow as a team, not losing games to get a young talent.
 
Common games?
We owned Denver. They lost to them.
We beat Carolina. They lost to them.
If they lose to the Bills, we'd both be 1-1 against them.
They would have a better record against the Jets unless they lost to them, making it 1-1.
We both beat the Raiders.
They lost to San Diego, so a win for us would be a huge in that respect.
They beat Atlanta, we lost.
Both lost to KC.
Both beat the Saints.

It kind of seems like they're doing better.... so far. That could very well change sunday.

New England wont beat Bufallo here is why

If Buffalo loses, Mike Mularky will get shot in the parking lot, they will be prepared. lol

Tampa is fighting for its playoff life and matches up well vs NE

If we beat sandiego our next 2 games are soft, and we should win


As long as we dont leave it up to the jets to beat NE...we have a shot

if new england loses to buffalo and we somehow beat SD it will get VERY interesting.
 
First you will have to beat the CHARGERS in San Diego.....not gonna happen.

and why is that?

we beat denver this year, it was a home game, but in my opinion denver is a better team than the chargers, it wont be easy but we can win
