Here are the areas the Dolphins still need to address after the draft:

Back-up QB: Obvious need and, since Lucas was released, one we will definitely address. Most likely move: signing Griese after June 1.

OLT: Named as a priority coming into the off-season, yet we've only picked up a couple of projects to address this need. Mark Dixon looks to stay at OLT for another season. Things have not worked out for the FO on this need (inability to sign Gandy or trade for Turley, inability to trade up in draft, lack of top prospect at #49). However, should we be surprised by the availability of a solid, veteran OLT after June 1, look for us to be aggressive in trying to obtain him. If we do, that could mean a move back to OG for Dixon, and perhaps the release of Perry. Most likely move: entering the season with the current O-line.

WR: We have one solid WR in Chambers and two servicable WRs in McKnight and Thompson. After that, it's all speculative with NFL Europe players, rookies, Simmons, and ST'er Rogers. Even though we'll rarely use a 4-wide set, having a decent #4 WR is needed, especially when considering our recent history of injuries at this position. What we really need is to upgrade our #2 WR, but that might not be possible this off-season. FO considered a WR at #49, but OLB seemed to be a better choice. Most likely move: bringing in a veteran FA WR after June 1 (I'd hope for Muhammad getting released by Carolina). Re-signing Gadsden would be a fall-back option.

LB: The serious need to upgrade starting OLB was addressed by the acquisition of Seau. Also, Moore may push Greenwood for playing time. We could still use some experienced depth here. Most likely move: picking up a veteran FA LB at minimum salary after June 1.

S: Upgrade at starting safety needed. If we sign Sammy Knight, he'll start, allowing Marion and Freeman to compete for the other starting job. Most like move: signing Knight, letting the Marion-Freeman competition for the other starting spot and the Wooden-McGarrahan competition for the 4th spot happen in Camp.

P: I am hopeful that Stemke can easily beat out Royals for the starting job.

Great Post.

I would add to your list picking up another veteran DB if they become available ala Terry Cousin of a couple of years ago. I am not sold on Fletcher as even the 4th DB.

Post draft team needs:
1) Sammy Knight
2) Brian Griese
