Post-free agency draft updates (visits, reported targets etc)

also just a reminder of what the next couple days will be like for players. Here's Jakeem Grant draft reaction.

I love seeing these moments. These men have worked so hard, so many people have invested in them, a dream being realized. Whether Grant works out for us or not, whatever. The feeling of being drafted....all of us fans can only imagine what it would be like to have an NFL team believe in you so much, they call your phone and ask you to join them. To be a part of their team. Unbelievable feeling.

I don't know if this is a draft update just a tid bit. Dirk Koetter told me the other day Myles Garrett isn't first on the Bucs board.

I bet it's Fournette.

Isn't Garrett first on ours? Just figured it's a cool little draft note.

Watched that show, he seems like a good guy. Just a shame he can't catch the ball if to save his life

Can you coach constant drops out of his game? Doubt it. I like so much else about Grant

Ya exactly. We really should've lost to the chargers after that horrible muffed punt. Thank god Lippett saved us

The Dolphins know they need to add a guard this weekend but ideally prefer not to do it in the first round if appealing defensive options are available.

But they also, ideally, would like to add a guard who’s good enough to immediately compete with Ted Larsen and Jermon Bushrod to start.

Among a few they’ve taken a strong interest in: Pittsburgh’s Dorian Johnson, who’s widely projected as a second-day pick (rounds two or three).

Per a league source, the Dolphins summoned Johnson to team headquarters before prospect visits ended league wide last Thursday.

Given the lack of OL depth, I'd be a little surprised to see Johnson sitting there at 54. I would prefer a combo of Willis/Johnson to Lamp/Hall, for example. 21-54 looks wide open.

DE Derek Barnett pens open letter to NFL GMs, coaches ahead of NFL draft

Derek Barnett comes with no worrisome life issues, one NFL personnel man told me recently.

“He’s the kid you’d like your daughter to marry,” the personnel man said.

Yeah, especially since he’s going to be a first-round selection Thursday evening during the NFL draft, and he’s going to be rich, and he’s an excellent player, and yes, he’s got the makeup that just about anyone can love -- especially NFL teams.
