Now that the season's over for us, it's nice to still have a reason for a rooting interest into the post season- especially as it concerns who ends up in Landshark in February and why. I'd be curious how fellow FH'ers feel
My Superbowl preferences are:
AFC: San Diego Chargers: Rivers doesn't get the credit he deserves, but more importantly they're not the Colts who laid down for the Jest enraging their players, fans and even some Indiana legislators along the way. Fortunately the Chargers have had their number, are a more complete team, Norv isn't a great coach, but a good guy who's paid his dues to get to The Big Show more than some arrogant rookie HC and a loss by the Colts is a slap in their face for not taking the perfect season record seriously. Personally, I wanted them to end the season undefeated cause it devalues the Pats recent accomplishment and I was reasonably certain SD would handle them in the post season.
NFC: Green Bay Packers: the sleeper team few have taken seriously. Rarely has a GM been so skewered, as Thompson has for doing the right thing by letting Favre walk instead of losing their very promising QB Rodgers to free agency. If the Packers make it into the SB, that means they've defeated The Drama Queen and his Viqueens along the way which to me is always a good thing. Rodgers has put up with a lot of crap since he came in, including Bretta declaring it's not his job to mentor a young QB, and then biting his tongue a few seasons while Favre went through his annual courting and mating rituals. Rodgers is on the verge of QB elite status and it would be a good thing seeing him succeed. Despite all the hype of the Vikings, Saints, etc, IMO, The Packers are a more complete team with maybe the best defensive player in the league and are peaking at just the right time.
