is it just me, or are we becoming more excited about our UDFA rather than our Draft Picks? I dk man, hearing about Jayson Foster, Davone Bess, Kelly Pop*****, Kory Robertson,Marcel Reese, Scorpio Babers, Rolly Lumbala, etc.'s POTENTIAL makes me REALLY excited.

However, some of us, especially myself, should take into consideration that these guys aren't underrated football gods. They're just players with potential to be great, which sometimes clouds our judgment on whether they're 'good' or they 'suck'.

It's only because alot of the UDFA are at skill positions and the players in the trenches dont get much hype like they should.

Everybody seems to just love UDFA's. Most likely they won't even make the team. Remember when David Sutton was the darling of our camp last year. He was cut. Don't look into it too much, they're basically warm bodies for training camp. All these youtube videos are basically highlight reels. Let's see Jayson try and block an NFL lineman coming at our qb. All that speed won't do him any good when he get's pancaked to the ground. I see people on here comparing Bess to Welker. What Welker has that separates him from all NFL receivers is his passion. You won't find another Welker out there.

Many love rooting for the true underdogs to make the roster. It's just a good story. Savvy teams always seem to nab a few each year that really help them.

The one I'm sorry to see let go was Atari Bigby - that guy has been solid for GB. However, most of them are just camp fodder.

Good question. I can't think of one. I think they make good stories for the Sentinel & Herald though...good filler for a slow off-season. Wasn't romo an undrafted UDFA?

It's quite simple really. People are showing more love for the UFDA's this year because some of them are skill position players.

Parcells decided our lines stunk (and he was right) so he built up the lines (the foundation of our team) in the draft.. Linemen just aren't going to get the fanfare and recognition they deserve. So fans will look at UDFA's to do that.

With the 80 player limit on the roster now undrafted guys are critical. I think the Dolphins diligently searched guys that met their needs and didn't take any "flyers" on any guys. I really do think many of these guys will contribute and be the guys Miami calls if a 53 man roster is affected. The owners really screwed up not approving an expanded roster.

Most fans look at stats and decide that this guy is a football player even though they have no relationship.
The fastest LB in the combine went undrafted and signed as a udfa.

let's expand on that. Who are some players that really panned out as UDFA? OR some that you rooted for but never really did anything? etc.

Really I don't get excited about UDFAs at all. But Bigby has been exactly what he was advertised as - a decent cover guy who hits like a freight train. He showed that in camp with us, but was let go, and has been far better than average with GB (I won't say stellar) and has stepped up in some big games for them.

UDFA's probably have a much better shot at making it with Miami then any other team. We have so many needs and spots to fill, unlike teams like the Pats, Giants, Colts, Cowboys, etc., who have a lot of quality starters and backups. I would say only Jake Long, and maybe a handful of other guys, can be penciled in right now as starters.

I think it is because Parcells actually believes in competation from UDFA. Terrance Cooper, Oliver Hoyte, Tyso Thompson, Sam Hurd & Keith Davis were all players that were UDFA for Dallas and have made an impact. Cooper & Hurd have become pretty good recievers, our own Davis is a monster on ST and Oliver Hoyte is suppose to become the Chief starter at FB. So to see guys like Bess,Pop*****,Carpenter and Lombala you think this guys will have a true shot at competing and if they can transfer what they did in College t othe practice field you see no reason why they shouldnt make the team. I think for the fisrt time the jobs will go to the Best Performers, and I cant wait to see the compatetion this Offseason.

I could't agree more, currently we have three tackles. You can expect to see serious competation there. Also wit have a vacating G spot where there will some intense compatetion. The S,CB,WR,K,TE and FB position will have serious battles in TC and I cant wait to see the victors.

If I had to guess which UDFA's will make the team, I would have to say:

- WR Davone Bess
- K Dan Carpenter
- NT Kory Robertson
