Mike Pouncey of the Miami Dolphins didn’t say it in so many words, but it’s likely that Sunday’s game against the New York Jets is the last time you’ll see him at guard for the foreseeable future.

“It’s really up to the coaches right now,” Pouncey said this week. “I’m playing well at right guard, but we’ll see for next season.”

He said he’ll do whatever coaches feel is best, but when it was mentioned that he has had cameo roles at center recently when Samson Satele required brief attention from trainers, Pouncey glowed.

“It felt good to be back home,” he said. “I told everybody after that first game (back from off-season hip surgery), I felt kind of nervous about the snaps because I don’t practice it that much. But it felt good to be back home and I will be excited for next year.”

Needs to be the first step in getting the line situated for 2015.

He should have been at Center all year.

if he knows something, then good.. but i guess that leaves Samson out or as depth

He'll be a lot better back at center and healthy, probably. Wasn't good hurt at RG, that's for sure.

So Albert, New Player, Pouncey, Turner, James.. That gonna be the line up for 2015, if Turner works out?

Should never have played anywhere but center

Good.....Pouncey had great success as a center....glad he is heading back there.

Albert / Pouncey / James.......and we need two Guards to fill in. If Turner progresses enough...great, but if not, lets get one in free agency and one in the draft. We also need depth on the line. Quality depth.

Albert and Turner are big unknowns! We're looking at bringing in at least 3 Starter caliber OL and at least 3 Backups..

I can't agree with that....we didn't have good enough guards with him playing guard...Satele did a solid job.

Next year we can upgrade the guards and move him back....this year I don't know by what logic you would make that statement....care to expand?

You gonna be upset cause there's not gonna be that much turnover...they don't need to blow it up either...its closer than I get the feeling people think...

2 pieces one starter quality one depth and you have your active 46 on game day oline

Agree IF Albert is healthy.

I'd be happier if he was more likely headed to another team. But since we took his 5th year option, oh well. I'm glad he played guard this year as he was needed there and provided us with the best possible 5 man line we could turn out. If we are able to shore up our options at guard in the offseason then we should move Pouncey back to center as long as that guard/center combo is potentially better than having Satele in the line up.

The only 2 tough decisions they have to make on the oline are does Shelley smith come back at that 2.8 or do we offer him a cut which I think is the likely scenario and see if he will take it and does Jason fox get another one year vet minimum contract...that's about it...satele and colledge are gone satele only gets called if we sustain an injury at center pouncey I'm sure they will pay that 7.5 for one more year and put him at center rather than open up another hole james if alberts not a go come week 1 will play the left tackle til he is...they need a piece in free agency fingers crossed we can land Orlando Franklin which would basically complete us up front and his signing should he come here could effect a fox one year pact...they will bank on billy turner being ready next year they will bring Dallas thomas to camp given his low salary and I'm sure they will invest a pick in a interior swing piece to develop for the future...

If they miss on Franklin looking at the tackle market I think smart play is to bring back fox on one year pact as depth do not invest high pick in tackle in the draft...you have options...just don't ever put Dallas thomas out there again...if we land Franklin we are cooking with gas have a starting guard who can play right tackle have multiple left tackle options have turner who can shift out there as well who says his technique has improved 10 fold this season and who has elite physical tools have Shelley smith as depth and likely the draft pick piece or another veteran like signing on the cheap or Dallas thomas should he make strides they believe in at guard...which would mainly need to be to develop some physicality and pop on contact in a phone booth...to get nasty

Franklin signs and we are hooked up...it's the missing piece to take this oline to the next level...

In an ideal world fox is on your 53 but never has to activated...he is injury insurance at tackle but way down the depth chart...I don't care if he gets paid a one year vet minimum like contract to return it's worth it just to have that as a fallback at tackle after the other options have exhausted

And if by chance you luck into something in camp that you believe in more than fox at tackle worth developing you cut him at the final 53 no harm no foul
