19. Miami: "We picked Ted [Ginn Jr.] because we're so close on defense, and he could make the difference in a few games with his playmaking ability,'' Cam Cameron told me this spring. If Brady Quinn turns out to be very good, the Ginn pick is a dud, almost no matter how good he is. If Quinn turns out to be Tim Couch, Ginn could look like Gale Sayers.

Sorry, he lost me with the Rams at 10 and Detroit at 13. What on earth did either of these two teams really do in the off-season to improve THAT much to be in the top 15 teams ?
Another day, another useless pre-season ranking article.

i think san fran should be in our spot and we should be in their spot, this ranking is too fair for a team which was 6-10

san fran is a playoff team this year, and i'll be dissapointed if their not. there one of the up and coming teams in the nfl.

The rams have an AMAZING offense
They have top 5 QB in bulger
Top 3 RB in Jackson
2 Good WRs in Holt n Bruce
We all kno how Mcmike is tho...

I don't know about the Brady thing, were we the only team to pass on him or something? Picking the right QB is much bigger then picking the right WR. If Cams system calls for a premium on accuracy, then what should they do draft a guy because he's the popular pick just so the media doesn't scold us? Whatever, we saved a ton of money not taking Brady in the first and we got a QB that's twice as accurate and twice as smart. As for Ginn we all know what speed can do. I love the Ginn pick.

As for the ranking, it could be lower, but it isn't a stretch IMO. Miami has the defense and we added some serious weapons on offense and we have an outstanding coaching staff, we should get more respect then we're getting.

how is detroit ranked 13 wow thats all i got 2 say

This is definately the most fair ranking we've been given all year ..

I agree, and i think thats about where i would rank us for the preseason. Some have us in the 26-30 range which is way to low. I agree with the 19 ranking.

I don't understand this logic. If Quinn plays really well for Cleveland for years and years, who's to say he would've done the same thing for Miami? It's like these "experts" assume that you can be as productive with any team in the NFL as you would be for one team.

Quinn could've come here and sucked big time

I don't think the rankings are that bad, but to have Cincy and Jacksonville with us and St. Louis and Detroit that high is tough. St. Louis, to me, is a darkhorse to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. If their defense can hold up, we all know what their offense can do. However, how is Detroit #13? I just don't see it. However, I see potential for both the Jags and Bengals to be playoff contenders. I'd put them ahead of the Rams, because I believe they are better teams, and play in a tougher conference.

I like this quote from Peter, and I might not be able to disagree with him...

11. New York Jets: The AFC East will be the best division in football this year, and it's going to be very tough for New York to go 10-6 again.

I just added in the NY prediction because I also believe it's true.

yeah their offense is great, but unfortunately for the rams, there D is the complete opposite of their offense, its terrible. I dont see them being much better than last year, probably 8-8
