Practice-Feeley looking better Gus not.

"At times, A.J. Feeley looked more impressive in practice."

Doesn't sound like he's banging down the door to start by any means.

I wonder who'll start this week...

Not surprised it says Feeley hit Brown out of the backfield a few times.

I would love to see Saban take away that safety valve in practice and make AJ look down the field more. If he threw more balls down the field instead of to the backs he could put some points on the board.

Is the madness ever going to end?!?!?!?!.....

Can't we just name a starter already. Right now, I don't think it even matters who our QB is. The OL is still struggling, and until that changes, the starting QB is meaningless IMO....

Hell, why not just throw Berlin to the wolves???....He's a rookie, has shown flashes on 3rd string, and could be solid with a year under his belt. We've really got nothing to lose as long as the OL is going to continue to play poor....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

feeley throws for 16 completions and less than 100 yards... that has got to be a record. I dont know how you throw for less than 100 yards on 16 attempts but hey.. bravo....

Now you can bet feeley is playin his butt off!

I get so frustrated watching Feeley...he had a first down on the Miami 45 with about 50 seconds left...completed 3 passes...used 2 timeouts and moved the team 10 yards!!!!!!!!!...then time ran out....he just refuses to throw downfield...its crazy!

Practice is revealing up to a certain point. Feeley has yet to complete a long / intermediate pass on the middle of the field. All his completions have been sideline or dumpoffs. Mcdougle was the most impressive lineman in practice, particularly in "one on one" drills and look what happens in the game. He's a real mystery. Such a naturally huge man. Why not move him to guard where he can rely a little more on drive blocking. Incidentally, where's the pulling guards on runs? I seem to remember 360 pound Jamie Nails leading Ricky around and thru the holes when he got his 1800 yards.

this is EXACTLY the reason why one can no longer go by training camp/practice reports. They may look good in practice, but once the heat is on.....good bye

the receivers aren't worried about being crushed, and the QBs aren't worried about contact. It has become very apparent to me after watching the preaseason games that practice really hasnt gotten some of these guys ready as it should have. Maybe it has to do with working out in shorts, I have no clue.

Montana made it to the Hall of Fame doing just that!

thats exactly what i'm for. since the OL sucks and we'll be riding the RBs this year anyway, why not try out Berlin? he just might be like feeley was last year and improve as the year goes on - might even turn out to be our golden goose.
