I am getting my direct tv DVR unit with sunday ticket installed tommorrow.

Do they air the preseason games? Is that a part of the sunday ticket?

I didn't get any pre-season games last year on DTV Sunday Ticket, but NFL Network will have some.

yeah they'll have some of them on there....they may just show highlights too...besides preseason isnt that big of a deal anyways :)

its just a nice jolt for all the rookies and new players and players in general who are just tryin to make the team. does that make you feel any better about not being able to see the preseason games? i know it worked for me lol.

NFL Network shows them, but mostly in replay. The Panthers game is going to be live though I'm pretty sure.

try to check out nfl super fan its an additional $99 and you get all of the games replayed for the day without commentary and its usually under 1 hr. They also have the redzone channel where whenever a team is in the redzone they automatically switch it to that game (unfortunately last year it was only available with fox games, dont know about this year). and last but not least they have 2 dedicated channels where they split your tv screen into 8 nfl games and you can scroll the audio to whichever game you want to follow. kind of fun when you have buddies around makes you feel like being in a sportsbar.

They're promoting that they'll have ALL of the preseason games... pretty sure not all will be live, because it is only one network, but on a delayed basis probably.

I'm considering getting the NFL Sunday Ticket this season but have a few questions about Direct TV. If anyone with Direct TV can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

1. Is it possible to just purchase the Sunday Ticket or will I need to purchase a basic package as well.

2. If I do need to purchase a basic package, am I free to cancel that after the NFL season?

3. Would I be able to install everything myself or is professional installation required?

Thanks for any info you can give.

(1-2) Purchase of the NFL Sunday Ticket requires a one-year commitment to the "Total Choice" package from DirecTV. Don't worry...it offers more channels at a better price than basic cable.

(3) Virtually all of the DirecTV dealers nowadays offer free professional installation. If the dealer you calls doesn't offer it, call another dealer. If you have an apartment, you'll probably need to set the dish on a table or clamp it to a post and then run a cable inside. If you have a house, definitely have the pros install it, as you'll have to permanently mount the dish and then either hook it into your cable box or to install new wall outlets.

looks like we only get 3 this year on NFL network.... for the out of market Miami fans.

NFL Network airs EVERY preseason game. About 90% of them in tape delay. They air a couple live. But they air them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And you get the 1st half of the games with the visiting teams announers. And the 2nd half of games with the home teams announcers. So everyone is happy.

Don't hook it up yourself. They do it for free let them do it. Trying to find the sat signal and have the dish facing the right way would take a lot of time. They got a machine that does it in like 3 seconds so it picks up the signal on the button.
