I think you should work on your punctuation. If you are on a phone, I take it back..............LOL

NJFINFAN79 you're nuts, crazy, outta your mind, drunk, stewed, on drugs, take some meds, change the water in the pot of steam you're looking into, and most of all...I agree. Miami at 10-6.

Realistic expectations are more of the 6-10 to 8-8 area, and even so, 8-8 is pushing it in my opinion. It's hard to be a top-15 offense when you lack skill through and through at receiver. Yes, I do mean that Davone Bess and Brian Hartline are not the kinds of receivers you can rely on for an entire season as your first options.

Our defense will be great, but unless David Garrard or Matt Moore can be the kind of efficient monster that Pennington was back in Sparano's first year, this team won't make the playoffs. We have one prolific player on our offense and that is Reggie Bush. You better believe that teams will be keying into that the entire season. Realistically, do you honestly expect Charles Clay and Brian Hartline to dominate their matchups game in and game out? Hartline is good for that tight-rope catch along the sidelines, but this receiving corps is super one-dimensional.

7-9 for us. We are a competitive team but we still lack the pieces needed to pull away when it matters. We will be a playoff team within the next two years, though.

i like the optimism but i dont see us being a 10-6 team or even in the playoff hunt by midseason. I think we are a 6-10 or 7-9 team at best but i wounldnt be surprised if we went 4-12 or something like that. This team has too many ? all over the offense and some on D. The D will be pretty good and will probably keep us in some games but the offense will be bad (probably in the mid to low 20's). Hartline is not a #1 WR and on some good teams wouldnt be a #2 or 3. 85 got too many ??? around him and bush has only stayed health one year. The right side of the oline is still a big ? (even though i cant see how they could be worse). And the biggest ??? of all is at QB. I love this team but realistically speaking i think its going to be a long season. anything over 6 wins for me is a successful year.

9 - 7
Dansby and V. Davis have breakout probowl years.
Defense great.
Offense takes a while to get going but comes on strong at the end.
In the hunt for a playoff game but fall just short.

If I were to make an AFC east prediction at this stage it would be something like this;

Patriots 11-5
Jets 9-7
Dolphins 8-8
Bills 8-8

Here is my prediction, as of now. Things change all the time though. Injuries in TC or preseason could obviously completely derail some teams.

Patriots 9-7
Dolphins 9-7
Bills 8-8

Jets 6-10

I really think you could make a good argument for 5-11 or 11-5 depending on how things shake out. The good news for Miami is that they have a lot of young players who could emerge. The bad news is they have a lot of young players who are unproven. I will say it would be hard for everyone in the division to end with at least an 8-8 record. I personally think the Dolphins and Jets battle out for the cellar even though, saying that, I think Miami will be an improved team and are headed in the right direction.

I wish I had some of the optimism some of you folks are showing. I don't think our offense is going to amount to very much this year, especially if Garrard beats out Moore for the qb job. The lack of a passing game will allow defenses to stack the box on our run game. Our D should be decent, but they'll be on the field a lot. I suspect we'll be in more than a few low-scoring games that we'll wind up losing in the 4th quarter when the defense loses steam. I'm guessing we'll somewhere around the 6-10 mark and even that might be hard to pull off.

I can't predict our record but when we played the Pats last year, I had no fear of what Ocho would/could do to us. Hopefully he can turn things around here. I think our offense is going to struggle. If I'm the opposing D, I'm pressing Hartline, Ocho and Bess all day.

Hopefully Clay, Fasano, and Egnew can G off and actually make some TE noise this year, otherwise it's going to be a long season. D looks stout though.

5-11 to 7-9...

If Philbin is "just another coach"...expect 5-11 with the talent this team has and the switches on both sides of the ball.

Many of u will be surprised what an up tempo west coast style offense can do for this recently historic point lacking team. This will not be a 14 to 20 point offense, I expect 20 to 27 per game. Our early schedule is very favorable

Under Tony Sparano we scored 20.4 points per game. So saying 20-27 doesn't really say much. Now if your say 24-27 then that would be a big improvement.
And that is what it will take to turn some of those close losses into wins.
