Just watched the Denver game again, and I'll tell ya what -- by about mid-season we'll be talking about Marty Booker being our number ONE receiver, not our number two. Chambers just isn't showing the "I'm gonna take over this game" mentality the great ones have, and he isn't putting himself in position to fight for balls downfield. Booker on the other hand is Johnny-on-the-spot with his play.

Chambers will still be the downfield guy because of his speed, but Booker will be our #1 target. I predict Booker to finish with 90 or more catches and Chambers to finish with 55-70.

what you forget is that Chambers, being the #1 WR, draws the #1 Cb on the other team. Booker benefits from playing against the second-tier Db.

Also each game the WRs will get different looks from the QB. Some games Chambers will have more yards, others Booker will. You can't judge that by just one game.

The #1 CB is also usually the faster one, and that might be why Chambers is drawing him -- Chambers is faster. And I'm not making a judgment based on one game -- I'm making a prediction. The judgment, if it happens, will be based on several games.

Booker has been a no. 1 and a Pro Bowl no. 1. Chambers, hasn't really gotten there yet, so yes it might happen

Chambers has some of the best catches i have ever seen. To say that any of our other recievers are gonna be better there is no way. The only reason others might look good is beacause he draws double coverage. He is one of the purest talents on this team with the best hands (well mcmike has some damn good hands too) There is no way anyone will take Chambers' number one spot. He is one of the most clutch recievers in the NFL

And there are guys who can throw the ball 75 yards in the air and aren't good enough to play QB in the NFL. Sure Chambers makes spectacular catches, but when's the last time you saw him haul in a longball in the middle of the field when he had to fight for it first?

He should've at least FOUGHT for the longball against Denver in the 2nd quarter. It was about a 35-yard ball, and the defender was all over it. Chambers just waited for it to land in his arms, which is what he usually does with longballs he doesn't have to dive for. He's great at diving and catching -- he's just not great at fighting for the ball with defenders.

chambers is by far more gifted and talented than booker is although i'm dissapointed in bostons performance against denver but hopefully he can bounce back

Chambers is by far the more gifted ATHLETE, but Booker will be considered the better PLAYER by mid-season.

Thank you for this post, shouright. I have been here with Booker from the first day he joined the team. He doesn't do the circus catch like Chambers does, but he does everything a receiver needs to do. He runs great routes, has great hands, and finds ways to get lost in coverage.

I think Chambers has made some extremely good catches but maybe he is not as good as people make him to be. People put him as one of the best but he has yet to prove so. except for a few good catches. Maybe Chambers is like Andruw Jones for the Atlanta Braves he was good his rookie year then people started calling him the next Willie Mays. With exception to this year he has been average except for HR's and amazing fielding. Chambers is the same he made amazing catches a few times and he is the best WR on team? I dont see it that way the one that has the most TDs yards a game and plays the hardest for it is the best player which is Booker. Chambers may have the potential but he has yet the succede.

The problem right now with Chambers is that Rick Spielman made the mistake of paying him like a top-5 receiver in the league when he has yet to even show he's a NUMBER ONE receiver in the league. So now if Chambers is an externally-motivated guy (i.e., motivated by money rather than the desire to be great), he's going to be on cruise control for the rest of his career. If he's externally-motivated and Spielman HADN'T paid him yet, we might be seeing him add the qualities to his game he needs to add to warrant that money.

Right, and when you contrast that with Chambers's penchant for letting the deep TD pass him by because he isn't aggressive enough with defenders to go get it, it's not too tough to see who the QB's gonna be counting on here real soon.

Over a hundred all purpose yards isn't good enough for you? I'm predicting your prediction will be dead wrong. I think Chambers will separate himself from the rest of the Miami receivers by midseason.

All he had to do on the reverse was follow the cadre of blockers he had in front of him. Sure the play was great, but Wes Welker could've done the same thing at 5 million dollars less per year. Chambers's NUMBER ONE job is to haul in the longball in traffic. He doesn't do that too well.
