With the likely hood of Ricky Williams being gone for a year, that leaves us short on the RB side in case of injury to Ronnie Brown. With Holmes on the outs of starter at KC and maybe even being cut for cap reasons, I would like to think that he can come in here and still be productive and help Ronnie out. Now of course this is just a thought, but I would like to see what every else thought about this subject? The idea of a two headed running back was nice last year and I think Holmes would be a great number 2 back with his age and experience. We wouldn't have to worry about his character issues either. Please tell me what my fellow fin fans think about this POSSIBLE addition.

I remember watchin a CBS interview the year Ricky retired, and Priest thought about doing the same thing, at the top of his game. He didnt, but I question his desire to play football, the IDEA of Priest here, is delicious but who knows.

I wouldn't object, but I think that the money could be better spent elsewhere, like QB or Secondary. We could probably get a very capable backup (like Michael Bennett perhaps) at a much cheaper rate.

We have too many other holes to even think about signing Holmes, unless it was for a small contract which I doubt it would be. Plus are you forgetting about Brown, Morris, Harris, etc.?

RB is about the last postion Mueller & Saban are worried about. But I like the idea of getting as many Badgers as possible. Just great, smart, beautiful people, like myself. :sidelol:

What do you all think of Brandon Williams, Jonathan Orr or Brian Calhoun??
Although Fletch was/is a close friend. And I wasn't to thrilled with the way the fans treated him. He wasn't THAT bad, and he's doing great in SD. But I digress, lets just be sure and load up on some more Badgers. Michael Bennet as our #3 back is fine with me.

What do we need Priest Holmes for with Brown and Morris ???? This is ridiculous thinking...Sure, it's great to have Ricky and Ronnie, but why two starters for one position ??? Would you think of having McMike and adding Tony Gonzales ??? Of course, not...We happen to have R&R because of the uncertainty (at draft time) of RW...If RW had not retired in 2004, do you really think that Saban would have drafted Brown ?? Folks...two is better than one but not how you run a team, particularly in this day and age of the NFL...Wouldn't you rather have RB and a top-notch CB or LB instead of RB and RW ???

I just like the thought of having two REAL serviceable running backs in case one goes down. If we didnt have Ricky at the end of the year when Ronnie went down would we have won those last two games? Do you guys think anyone would be scared of Morris or Harris. PLUS like i said just a thought for the experience and leadership he could bring to our team. But we do have other major concerns and I agree money can spent else where. Last year was a fluke to have RW and RB on the same field. Great responses everyone.

No we need a QB, another OL, 2-3 more guys in the secondary, and another OLB. Don't put a bunch of money in another RB.

It'd be alright with me if he came cheap but the guy's going to retire. Not only does he want to for more time with his family but his doctors might not even clear him to play after than spinal injury.

Your thoughts are very true...and having them helped a lot this year, but Morris is also a 'serviceable back'. He had 523 yards on 132 carries for a 4.0 YPC average as a 'starter' for us behind a much worse OL. I think he could have complimented either R or R very well had we not had one of them. I just think that having two starters at RB is a luxury we don't need...That said, their both here (for now) and even if Ricky wins the appeal, we're most likely to have both again...

Bennett as a #3?? Who would be your #2?? Remember this thread was about a #2 if Ricky does get suspended. I would think that Bennett's price tag and ability will define him as a primary backup.

Fine, #2. Its all pretty silly, anyhow. See "yeah that" signs.

I'd like to see top flite OL, Secondary, and QB come here first.
