Preston Williams (ACL) cleared for football activities.

You get more bang for your buck, until you face a top 5 Defense and them speed guys can’t get open. Then you turn into the Colts losing to the Pats every other year in the playoffs. And don’t get me wrong we need a speed guy to take the top off the defense. But with Parker and Williams we have 2 guys that even when there covered there is a chance to get them the ball.
Here are your last SB WRs...

Tyreek Hill 5'10" 185 4.29
Sammy Watkins 6'1" 211 4.43
Mecole Hardman 5'10" 187 4.33
Demarcus Robinson 6'1" 203 4.59
Deebo Samuel 5'11" 214 4.48
Emmanuel Sanders 5'11" 180 4.40
Marquise Goodwin 5'9" 180 4.27

said that his game would translate very well from college, great size and body type, with quick feet, instinctively nuanced..exhibits natural leverage on top of his defender, and just seemingly enjoys running good routes, seems like that part of the game is important to him..Infectious personality, just stay out of trouble young man, really hone your craft, and you and your family will never have to work another day in your life.

I'm guessing that the 49ers would trade a few speed demons for someone who catches the ball. Hill and the Chiefs in general are a unique creation....there is no replicating them.

You can go back and look at the Pat's dynasty and come to the conclusion that speed is overrated and the best asset a team can have is a shifty slot receiver. They won super bowls on the back of guys like Edelman, Welker and Gronk. The Seahawks won with Baldwin, the Ravens with Bolden, Saints with Colsten.

The only constant is that if you're going to rely on your offense to win at the highest level you need multiple options and different ways to attack a defense. Its great to have a home run threat but far more important to have guys that can win one on one matchups, even if they're not able to turn on the jets and make the 5 yard play go 50. Having a TE that can run a route and consistently get open against linebackers has become so important in today's game. Likewise for someone in the backfield.

The Dolphins do need speed in their WR corp, along with a myriad of other things all across the offense. But that's no reason to diminish William's potential value.

You're looking at two offensive schemes based around speed WRs. And the receivers were also a non-factor in SF and one might argue that they may have been a lot better if they had another big body besides George Kittle. Philly won the SB with guys catching jump balls from a backup QB. There's more than one route to success.

We should have made the SB with Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson but instead we couldn't convert third and long since you couldn't even see them downfield.

The post you quoted was a direct response to this one VVV alludding to the fact that small fast WRs run into problems against top teams... Im assuming both SB teams ran into good teams and still made it to the SB without one guy over 6'1"... As for your list...

Edelman is 5'10"
Welker is 5'9"
Baldwin is 5'10"
Boldin is 6'1"
Only Colston is over 6'1 on your list

And to be clear, Im not even diminishing Preston's value... Im saying that slower tall catch radius guys hold more value when you have an inacurate QB and that faster players regardless of size guys hold more value when you have an accurate QB...

They sure didnt win those jumpballs because of size...

Ashlon Jeffery 6'3"
Nelson Agholor 6'0"
Torrey Smith 6'0"

Makes no sense. If they can catch a ball from Fitz they can catch a ball from an accurate QB. Whew

Not necessarily true. Just because a guy throws accurate doesn't mean he will be good at throwing contested catch balls to guys who make that their bread and butter.

They were not the biggest but aside from Baldwin were pretty slow. Quick, but not running away from anyone in this league.

I just think fans in general overrate speed. You're not alone.....plenty of GMs do as well. Preston has quick feet and knows how to get off the line....combine that with better route running and he can create separation. Hes got a long ways to go and may never get there but you can see all the tools are there......just a matter of putting in a whole lot of work.

I'll happily settle for a Boldin, Fitzgerald, Hopkins, Dez Bryant, AJ Green, Michael Thomas.....one of those slow types that knows how to run a route and catch the ball.
