2007 NFL Mock Draft
1. Oakland Raiders JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU -- In the end, Al Davis can't pull away from this kid's big arm. He is a tantalizing prospect.
2. Detroit Lions Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson -- Rod Marinelli had Simeon Rice in Tampa, and now he gets his speed rusher. They could trade down and still get him.
3. Cleveland Browns Joe Thomas, T, Wisconsin -- They consider Brady Quinn and Adrian Peterson, but their line needs help in the worst way.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech -- They are astounded he's still here. They might have to move to the No. 2 spot to get him, though.
5. Arizona Cardinals Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma -- Even with Edgerrin James on the roster, this staff didn't sign him. They love this kid.
6. Washington Redskins LaRon Landry, S, LSU -- I don't get this pick if they make it. They should take a defensive end.
7. Minnesota Vikings Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame -- Are they really convinced Tarvaris Jackson is the answer? I'm not.
8. Atlanta Falcons Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas -- They get one of the best defensive players in the draft and he fills a need.
9. Miami Dolphins
Levi Brown, T, Penn State -- They might make a move up a few spots for Quinn -- it's what they should do -- but if they're stuck they need help on their line and Brown makes sense.
10. Houston Texans Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville -- They finished the season playing with retread Anthony Maddox. This kid can
11. San Francisco 49ers Patrick Willis, LB, Mississippi -- He has been compared to Ray Lewis. Mike Nolan coached Lewis. And Willis fills a need.
12. Buffalo Bills Leon Hall, CB, Michigan -- They lost Nate Clements, so they pick up his replacement. They will also consider Marshawn Lynch.
13. St. Louis Rams Adam Carriker, DE/DT, Nebraska -- If the Rams work out a deal for Kris Jenkins before the draft, they will go corner.
14. Carolina Panthers Greg Olsen, TE, Miami -- The new offense will feature the tight end more than the last one, so they have to get a threat in the middle of the field.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers Darrelle Reavis, CB, Pittsburgh -- They would like to trade down and take guard Ben Grubbs, but if they're stuck they will take Revis.
16. Green Bay Packers Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee -- They think they can get a back in the second round, so they take a power player for their defense.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars Reggie Nelson, S, Florida -- He's the last of the guys left who they want, so they take him.
18. Cincinnati Bengals Alan Branch, DT, Michigan -- They have to get better play inside against the run, and this guy can do it.
19. Tennessee Titans Marshawn Lynch, RB, California -- They can't believe he's still on the board. He will be an immediate starter.
20. New York Giants Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas -- They need to find somebody who can defend the pass. Sam Madison doesn't have it anymore.
21. Denver Broncos Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue -- He is a little bit better than Jarvis Moss. This team needs pass-rush help in the worst way.
22. Dallas Cowboys Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC -- Did they care that Michael Irvin wasn't a burner? No. That's because he could make plays. So can this kid.
23. Kansas City Chiefs Joe Staley, T, Central Michigan -- Their line has always been a strength, and now it isn't. Staley can change that.
24. New England Patriots (from Seattle) David Harris, LB, Michigan -- This kid is rising up a lot of draft boards. This will be a heck of a pick for New England.
25. N.Y. Jets Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida -- He could be a player who could play down in the 4-3 and up in the 3-4.
26. Philadelphia Eagles Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State -- Even with the addition of Takeo Spikes, they could use another speed linebacker. With Timmons, Spikes could play the middle and sit down Jeremiah Trotter.
27. New Orleans Saints Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State -- They need to get some speed outside, and Ginn can help provide that.
28. New England Patriots Aaron Ross, CB, Texas -- They have to get better in coverage. Plus, they need insurance in case Asante Samuel holds out.
29. Baltimore Ravens Ben Grubbs, G, Auburn -- He's the best of the guard group and the Ravens need to get better on the inside of their line.
30. San Diego Chargers Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee -- They need to get more big-play chances outside. Meachem can do that.
31. Chicago Bears Jon Beason, LB, Miami -- If they do deal Lance Briggs, this gives them insurance.
32. Indianapolis Colts Steve Smith, WR, USC -- Their offense lacks a No. 3 receiver. Smith is perfect for that role.
