All, last year we were very fortunate (some more than others) to have an individual sport a cash prize for the top three winners of this league. This year we dont have that pleasure...so, I would like to propose that everybody put in 100 vbux (Virtual dollars that show up in your avatar) and at the end, the top three places take the kitty. That would be 3200 vbux to be split up as
1st place 50% (1600)
2nd place 35% (1120
3rd place 15% (480)

I have already aranged to have an area in the vbux lounge set up for us to commit these vbux too, and the site admin in charge of that (Byroan) is on board with that.
I dont want to dictate how people spend their hard-earned vbux:D , so I propose a vote-via a poll. Lets say if we get 65% sell-off than we do it.

EDIT: GM League managers, please leave feedback after voting. Need to know when/who has viewed and voted-thanks

ive got no idea what vbux are, but yeah im game

Also known as Phin-bucks. They show up in your avatar section and are obtained by making posts and threads..
You can go to the vbplaza pulldown and buy stuff (Graphics and stuff for your signature or avatar.)

NOT REAL MONEY FOLKS...but it makes it interesting.

I vote yes. But, could we make it more than $100, creating a larger prize for the winners? If most of the players have at least $500 I'd like to make it that much. If "buying" an underline for your screen name costs $200 I'd gladly pay $500 for the privilege of playing this game.

That would be up to you guys. But as it is we seem to have a person who doesn't like the idea...and I don't think we can force people to do this. We could do it where the people who don't want to pay don't have to and they just wouldn't be eligible to win the vbucks. The only problem is I don't know who voted no.

I voted NO, and it isn't because my virtual dollars are too precious.

I actually like the idea, but with so many teams it's hard to actually win the cash. You would have to have a top 2 finish to actually get some dough. The number 3 gets very little, while that team may have a very good roster also. So to distribute things more evenly I suggest making it a top 4:

1st place - 40 %
2nd place - 30 %
3rd place - 20 %
4th place - 10 %

It's just a suggestion but this way everybody has a better shot at the money.

Both previous posts bring up good points. Okay, so we can iron out the details afterward. Take a vote on amount and format. I dont have any issue with that at all... I was really trying to achieve a way to make it more interesting.

Yeah, I kindve screwed-the-pooch on that one. I didnt think we wanted it to be public knowledge of which way somebody voted. I think that some of the other Admins could possibly go back and research who voted how, or we could do this over after getting input

I think its a great idea, its always more exciting when there's precious phin dollars at stake. I also agree with the post that discussed increasing the wager.

I'm no cheapskate but I find $500 is a bit steep. I think such an amount could have negative side-effects. If you make the cash prize this big, (500*32=16000) you might wind up with a very ultra competative league in which everybody is willing to screw eachother over just to get their hands on the money. I'm not saying that's whats going to happen, but it very well could. I think the amount should be just enough to keep people interested in continue playing, but not high enough to make this league 'hawkish and ultra competive.'

So, if we are going to increase the wager, a $200 buy-in seems more reasonable to me.

I like the idea...I think it should be in between $100 - $500... I personally think that $500 is too much as it is most of what I have...maybe $250-$300...

my 2 cents...

500x32= $16,000

1st 40% = $6,400
2nd 30% = $4,800
3rd 20% = $3,200
4th 10% = $1,600

Doesn't sound so bad, especially when you consider what costs what in the vbucks plaza. Especially when you consider the value of vbucks is $1,000 for a logo of an NFL team. http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/vbplaza.php?do=listcat&categoryid=50

For the entertainment value, I think $500 is darn cheap IMHO.

I'm not so worried about it getting cutthroat as much as I worry about a lack of participation. More than tripling your $500 investment for 4th place sounds like a good incentive to keep 32 players involved.
