the more i think the more confused i get and reality chekcs in. An article said taht miami is unlikely to pay Bentley his want of 5 mill a year deal nor will they pursue Hutch as he would demand more money even though he got transitioned on his rear. Brees is the only sign of excitement as he is most likely a Fin. If this happens, it brings up more problems and not a comforting/exciting feeling anymore. Drafting a LT in the 1st round as they said it wont affect us too much becuase from being such a strong tackle class it has gone to a very bad and disappointing one an article said. Lepsis, shaffer, shelton are the possible LT avialable and expect us to draft instaed of pursuing those. now if that happens, how the hell we addressing D? if we got Bentley that woudl have been a HUGE upgrade but seems like it wont and that would only throw us behind even more. I dont think saban will go for any expensive player in the FA and now it seems like all the excitement has died for me and worries arose. if we got brees and a C then taht woudl have made thigns so much better and easier and a dominating team but nwo if its brees, no c, draft a LT rd 1 that puts away hopes of greenway, lawson, Simpson, huff for D and we will probably draft a QB still in the later rounds im sure. i give up. :(

Everybody around the NFL (fans, sportswriters) called the Saints idiots for not keeping Bentley. Well now reality hits, Bentley's demanding $5 mil a year with a hefty SB. The Saints have far too many holes to fill to have that much tied up in a Center. Re signing Bentley wasn't going to get the Saints to the playoffs next season but was only going to limit their options in free agency. Thanks to Katrina the Saints are going to have overpay to get pedestrian FAs so overpaying to keep Bentley didn't make much sense. I hated to lose him but if it keeps the Saints out salary cap hades (Jets, Raiders) then I'll live with it......

it's not even March yet.......you are too worked up!

Give the team time to make some decisions and we will see waht moves are made. You can't deny that Saban is going to put the team in the best possible situation to compete.

Nick Mangold would solve that problem. Trade down and get another OL! Thats what i say! oh and get brees.:)

Calm down.

First of all, we couldn't afford both Brees and a center like Bentley.

Secondly, you don't need the world's greatest offensive line to win. Offensive line is the most teachable position, and we have one of the best offensive line coaches in football. The line will be fine.

Third, Saban will get his defensive players, and make the ones already here better players.

Fourth, you shouldn't expect to win a Super Bowl this year. I'm not saying it can't happen, but there's still work to be done. I think a lot of Dolphin fans are getting ahead of themselves.

The most important objective in my opinion is the CBA. If an agreement
is'nt reached soon, even Saban admitted it would be difficult to sign
free agents.

Rex Hadnot-
6'2" 325

Wade Smith-
6'4' 325

Nick Mangold-
6'4" 290

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesnt belong

I'm not sure what article you're talking about, but this is a very strong draft for offensive tackles.

 Rest easy SR.... dont forget that we have Nick Saban running the show, not Wanny and Rick... you are correct in thinking that Brees is the most likely Fin out there and he is well worth a good buck... however, getting Brees will address the biggest question we've had over the years (QB)... while we may or may not get a good lineman out of FA, we should be happy with what we have going for us with the exception of D. Mac... I know a lot would disagree with me on this one, but compared to last season's O-line performance, this year was flat out amazing and I have full confidence under H. Houck the line will get better with time and chemistry... we dont have to draft an O-lineman in the first round, and could probably get a good one in the second round, using our first to draft a defensive stud like Huff out of Texas (there are a lot of defensive ball-hawks that would be available to us at 16, not just Huff)... and remember, while he isnt great, Travis Daniels came in as a fourth rounder and contributed well, so never underestimate the power of later round draft selections... as I mentioned first and foremost, just trust in Saban and know that we are in the best of hands with him... go Fins in '06-'07!!!:dolphins:

only 5 milllion

If it only took 5 million per for Bentley I would do it in a heartbeat:tongue:

Just take a look at the TURDS that we are paying that kind of money:boohoo:

I know we will be releasing those turds but Immediate pro bowl

center plus whomever we draft can make this line awesome.

I think we should spend the free agent $$$ on Drew and Bentley

then Draft-Draft-Draft...

You mean Rex being only 6'2 (Unlike the other 2 being 6'4), or Nick being 290 (Unlike the other 2 being 325)

Hey Practice squad, we aren't paying our scrubs that much.

Also, if you look at the Pats, they dont bring in high priced FA's for the oline. They bring in players (for the last few years it was Saban's recommended players) who can play. They save the big bucks for special situations when a difference maker (Corey Dillon) is available on the cheap.

I seriously doubt we'll even be mentioned in the LeCharles sweepstakes. Desperate teams pick up players like that.
