The passing game for any team is the combination of the receivers and the QB. This is an obvious statement, but it is lost during discussions on this board. Receivers get blamed. QB gets blamed, but never is the truth stated. Here is what is wrong with our passing game.

  1. Chad P. only believes that Camarillo and the TEs will fight for the ball. Do you blame him?
  2. Chad P. does not have his timing down. There are four to five opportunities during the game that are missed because of timing.
  3. Chad P. does not have the arm strength to hit a percentage of the opportunities (probably no more that 15% of possible throws during a game).
  4. Receivers are not getting significant separation.
  5. Satele is letting the center of the pocket collapse too much. This shuts down throwing lanes and limits vision.

I agree with that, especially the timing one, because of Chad's lack of arm strength he is best at timing patterns. He has always been that way. He can throw the ball 40 yds down field but he needs to know how fast his recievers can get their. Last week with the throw to Wilford, if the timing was there Chad could have thrown that ball a half second faster and Wilford may have got there. Give it time folks, its coming. Hopefully we will see some glimpes of it this weekend.
