Projecting Tannehill’s Preseason Workload

Someone asked me this question on twitter and my curiosity led me down a search of previous QBs coming off an ACL, as well as Tannehill’s previous usage under Gase.

I think gase will use him like he’s never gotten hurt. I wouldn’t do it.

Most I’d give him is a couple series in the regular season dress rehearsal week 3 game.

It might take more than two series to shake off any in game rust. If you don't play him much in preseason than you have to be willing to accept and anticipate some struggles in the first three or four games of the regular season.

RT's situation is better than either of those two examples so it's hard to compare. I would definitely get him in at least two games and into the 2nd quarter minimum in game 3

I think that’s a little bit overrated personally but I’m sure it will be the standard type break down of a series or two in the opener a quarter in the second game and a half in the dress rehearsal.

I think the rust argument is overrated as well... He's fine and "rust" shouldnt be used as an excuse beyond the first regular season game...
