Props from Peter King and MMQB!!

you know they as in SI want the dolphins to come back, they picked to go all the way and it is my opinion that we are going to make a serious run at it,,,i say we will win the rest of our games hopefully thats good enough to make the playoffs

Great to see the tide turning a little.

We've gone from being called one of the worst teams in football and in a "rut", to one of the top 15 teams and on an upward swing all in a two week span.

I just hope it keeps up!

i hope we do but it will be extremely hard to win all of these games.

If you read on he also writes "Remember nine days ago, when Nick Saban couldn't coach? The guy is still one of the top five coaches in the NFL.".

Sure is funny how people's emotions hinge on what some sportswriter has to say, bad or good, about our Dolphins. I don't need em kissing our cleats, I know we're coming around.

People talk about the tide turning... we must remember we are the true fans. Sportwriters have a job to do.... be sensational. The last 2 weeks we are playing like the top 15... But we were expected to do much better. It miffed alot of people to see us flounder.. as Im sure the pundits.. but thats how it is... you win.. you get the props... you dont.. you're cheese. enjoy it while it lasts!

And if we loose the next two its going to be fired Saban he sucks bla bla bla. As a society as a whole we live in a environment that lives and dies with today not tomorrow. Were all about what have you done for me lately and its getting worse every year but hey thats life. Ive been 110% behind Saban and I will be till the man says its time for a change.... but he can fire Mularky. :)

Peter King is one of my favorite sports writers and I religously read his Monday Morning QB. He gave us good props today in his fine fifteen:

"15. Miami (3-6). Have you watched the Dolphins play the last eight quarters? They're certainly one of the top 15 teams in football right now."

Nice to read King giving Miami props. He also noted : i. Remember nine days ago, when Nick Saban couldn't coach? The guy is still one of the top five coaches in the NFL.

I totally agree. And to think how many "Fire Saban" threads were appearing on this site just 3 weeks ago. People were comparing him to Wannstedt. There were polls showing a significant amount of finfans thought this team was worse than the 2004 unit. Unbelievable. Saban is an excellent coach.

A coach is still judged on the balance of the season and the fact is, that Saban DID NOT have his team ready to compete until the 8th game of the season.

He has made mistakes, he rushed Cpep back, he hired Mularkey, he didn't completly address Our OL and Secondary needs, but those last two units are geling now.

King has always liked Saban a lot

Some more commentary about Saban today from King:

THE CROWD OUT THERE THINKS SABAN'S OVERRATED. From Emilion of East Windsor, N.J.: "Peter, you base all of your writing on facts and your football knowledge, so it really surprises me that you bought all the hype and keep bringing up Nick Saban as a top-five NFL coach. I'll take Belichick, Cowher, Reid, Shanahan, Dungy, Holmgren, Fisher and Fox any day over Saban. That's eight far more accomplished NFL coaches. I'd even argue in favor of Gruden and Billick over Saban.''

Opinions make the sports world go 'round. My feeling is this: I liked Saban a lot coming into this job, and his year and a half in Miami has only very slightly dimmed his luster in my eyes. He's 12-13 in trying to revive a sinking ship. Give him time, and I think at the end of Year Three you'll see a very good NFL team. Saban's too bright a football mind to fail.
STEVE WANTS ME TO RANK THE COACHES. I WILL, WITH AN ASTERISK. From Steve of New York City: "Regarding your assertion that Nick Saban is a top five NFL coach, could you please let your readership know which eight of the following NFL coaches who have, you know, actually accomplished something at this level, don't quite measure up to Saban: Parcells, Belichick, Dungy, Holmgren, Reid, Cowher, Gibbs, Fox, Shanahan, Billick, Fisher and Gruden? I don't understand how anyone could rate Saban higher than all but four of that list of coaches. In 10 years, who knows, but right now, he sure hasn't shown it.''
Steve, it would be pretty easy to line up the winningest coaches, in order, and say they're the best coaches in the game. Chuck Knox has more wins than Paul Brown. Steve Owen has more wins than Bill Belichick, Jim Mora (the father) more than Bill Walsh. But would you say Knox, Owen or Mora was a better coach than any of the other three? No. The number of wins is not the way to rank coaches, particularly one who has coached 25 NFL games. But you asked for my top five NFL coaches. I'm going to answer the question this way -- which coach would I take if I were starting a team right now? Because it's silly to pick guys who might be in their last year, or last two years (e.g. Parcells, Holmgren, Gibbs), in my opinion. In some order, my top six: Belichick, Shanahan, Fox, Reid, Saban, Dungy. Hard to cut that to five. All of them are premier coaches.

Don't worry, it's not the whole article ;-)

Yea, you're right. This has nothing to do with an inured QB, massive injuries along the OL with 3 new starters and tons of injuries in the secondary. It's because Saban didn't have the team ready until 2 weeks ago
