For months leading up to this draft, I have been shocked to see how many Fins 'fans' have been willing to dump JT at the drop of a hat. And the chatter continues! Andy Cohen, the leading expert on the Dolphins and a guy whose opinion you have GOT to respect, has done nothing but dole out praise for JT for the past 10 years. Taylor is the consummate pro: The most dominant Defensive player in team history, and a gentleman off the field. He is the NFL's reigning Man of the Year! He goes 100% ALL THE TIME, and HOW many ppl. are willing get rid of him for Chad Johnson. CHAD JOHNSON!!!???? "Ocho-Cinco???!!!" This guy is ALL about Me Me Me Me Me. Doesn't care about his team, his coach, only himself. And you are willing to dump JT for this joker??!! He will destroy a franchise. I don't care if he nabs 120 balls and scores 15 TD's: He's NOT worth it. And Parcells is laughing at him, as well, because Big Tuna didn't want Owens in Dallas, either. YES, I agree that a draft-day trade to nab us a few high picks for Taylor was intriguing, but Parcells would NOT be undercut in terms of value, and I agree that Taylor is better off in a Fins uniform than being traded for a 3rd or 4th rounder, as many here were all too willing to do. Look at Strahan (an equal to Taylor): He is 3-4 years older than Taylor and is STILL playing at a Pro-Bowl level. Ppl. here are saying that JT has 1-2 years left. How do you know? He would be 37, 38 and still be playing at a high level. He sure isn't slowing down. In a league filled with TO's, Ocho-Cincos, and Pac Men, I for one am proud to have 'Twinkle Toes Taylor' on MY team. So please explain the hate for a guy like this, because I'm just not getting it. :rolleyes2:

Great player, yes, but at the same rate it seems like there is now alot of focus on things other than football.....acting, dancing, opening your own business, retirement (because your wife wants you to)....all signs that his football career may be nearing it's end. He's getting ready for a life outside of football. His brother in law has since departed, and who knows how that will affect him on the field. Also, it seems like he and Parcells aren't on the same page and that could make for a troubling situation. He also wants a ring, and knows he probably won't get it if he stays here. I guess time will tell what transpires....but again, i reiterate....great player

I hear ya bro, it's pretty pathetic to see all these posts bashing the only consistent Dolphin that remains on this team. Jason Taylor has done nothing but pour his heart and soul into this team, and all these impressionable people are just falling into the media lie about him and taking it to the bank.

I hope he is still a Dolphin when the season starts, and if Ireland and Sparano find value for him in a young player that can contribute to this team for many years to come then I will support our teams decision too, but for now, all we have to go on is Parcells word that JT will remain a dolphin unless he chooses to retire, or JT's word that he will be a dolphin unless told otherwise. ALL other comments the news has fed people is from "sources." This is irresponsible journalism!

I would really like to retain Taylor. He's an impact player; make that a dominant player and he is the face of the defense. If a great offer comes along later, however, the dolphins will have to give it consideration. It has to be a really great offer though to justify a trade IMO.

Hey I have been saying we need to trade JT, but not because I think he stinks, or b/c I don' like him, I thought we should had traded him to get a mess of picks but that did not work out so I'm glad we are keeping him.

I love JT in a non h-o-m-o way, but would like him to focus more on football and less on being Mr. Hollywood.

It is one thing to want to allow a player to move on to "greener pastures" (whether that is another team or another career), but it is quite another to become so completely negative towards him. Its like the guy who is shunned by a pretty girl suddenly starts to call her a whore. So many people are so quick to discount the past and make things personal...I find it disgusting.

Yeah why all the hate!@

I mean he is our Leader on and off the field, a proven VET. He is leading by example!

So what if he is blown off the new coaches and has been living in LA the past month starring in a reality tv show instead of particiating in our off-season conditioning program . I mean we only pay him 7 mill a year and over 100 mil since he started here.

Remember for that money, football is only a part time job.

not to interrupt all the back patting, but this guy will be retired by the time we're ready to win.

glad you all love to see him in a Dolphins uniform representing a likely last place team, possbily retiring without a ring(like someone else we love dearly).

it's in the best interest of both parties that JT play elsewhere, where he can win, and we can get value while the gettin' good.

keep him if we don't get what we want in return. if not, no big deal. we keep him, and by midseason if a team needs him, they'll cough up that first or second round pick to get him.

This was my feelings all a long everyone wants to give away taylor for nothing. It looks like the fans are turning on him just for the dancing with the stars show. M Straham missed all of camp and didn't even show up until the first game and their fans said nothing. Look where that got them.. I want to keep him and have him retire a Dolphin. I guess I am selfish that way why should he go somewhere to get a ring and leave us with this misery.LOL. Dan Marino clearly played pass his prime and know one would dare say the trade word. I'm sorry I think JT deserves just as much respect as Dan, JT was just as important but on the other side of the ball. Just think about how nice it felt to see Tom Brady on his back and Jason Taylor getting up off him doing his knock'em out the box routine.... CLASSIC JT

Coach killer that's the problem and it ain't his locker-room..., and BP just got the locker room back for Sparano..., Sparano couldn't have done it on his own... BP laid it down for JT... JT has been running this team because he knows he has the elite skills and stas... but is he a great leader...? When he cannot keep his mouth shut..?.

if everything Andy Cohen wrote was true...the Dolphins would win the superbowl every year.

Amen.I am getting so tired of the Jason hate.He has poured his heart and soul into this team and his so called "fans" scream for a trade. What do they want from the guy?I think trading him for future draft picks is like trading Tom Brady for future draft picks. It's stupid and hurtful and disrespectful to JT.The guy has been everything to a beleaguered franchise that never got it right in the last 8 years...yet JT continued to play and continued to dominate, playing while he was hurt and racking up sacks.
If JT wants to leave, then he should leave, but nowhere have I heard those words come out of his mouth.BP has said the only way JT will not be wearing a Dolphins uniform next year is if he retires.I really wish this trade talk would stop.Did anyone dare to scream for a trade when Marino was hurt?JT is just as important to Miami as Dan was.
Just stop it.JT is worth way more to Miami than an unproven draft pick.

Dangit, some of you Taylor lovers and supporters need to fix your bib or change your diapers or something.

So let me get this straight, Taylor has played great for us? Yes I will agree. Is he ROH worthy? Yes most definitely.

But some of you are ridiculous. It's as if all you look at is his stats to determing "heart and soul" and "leader" and all that other stuff. Just because he was an elite DE doesn't mean anything more then he was an elite DE.

So it's quite alright for some of you to bash Ricky Williams/Travis Daniels/ Jason Allen ETC.

But the moment someone says something negative towards Taylor you all go crazy and franctic like the world is gonna end.

Why is that? Oh yes, because he produces and gets us stats. My bad I forgot that because he is a reigning DPOY that means all of his DISRESPECT and throwing teammates under the bus can just be looked past?

Some of you wanna say some of us talking negatively about Taylor is because of what we read in the papers? Give ma a break.

Say what you want, but I am allowed and will continue to NOT LIKE Taylor as much as I want. I have my reasons.

Some of you need to stop crying like babies just because someone says something negative about him. Stop assuming that because we said "He threw Beck under the bus" that that means we think he is a horrible player.

Leader and heart and soul? Sure I guess if you consider a guy who under contract leaves the team to go dancing on Live TV and PUBLICALLY Critiscizes the team because the staff wasn't BOWING DOWN TO HIM with a red carpet and expensive cars when he came back to the team?

Yeah there's a great leader.

He's nothing but a DIVA always was and always will be. But let's all be contradictive and only notice the negatives of players we either want to or guys who aren't as talented as Taylor, but look past it when Taylor does bad stuff.

Don't even compare Marino to Taylor. That is just absurd.
