Props to O-line

Amazing what happens when you play with 5 men instead of 4 men and a woman.

How they are playing better minus two starters is nuts. McKinnie acquisition was laughed at but man is it paying dividends.

We would be screwed without McKinnie. Props to Ireland for swinging that trade on short notice.

no you dont understand. Ireland didnt get him in FA before so he sucks even though he got him later when available.

got it? making sense now? lol

Yes to Bryant, he's playing really, really well.

Big Sam isn't playing bad either next to him.

If this line starts to pick it up down the stretch, this team can go on a run.

Making perfect sense. By banking on the play of a guy who almost walked out on the team in March instead of signing a proven veteran on the cheap when he was available, Jeff Ireland might have sunk our season as the OL was the major problem in losses to the Bills and Ravens.

No it doesnt. You see there are two sides to every deal.

or let me take you on a diff take.....Lets say your right about him not getting him originally (we all know they were banking on Martin at LT-why get Mckinney?).

So he corrects himself by getting him anyways once this whole Martin thing went down. btw, was ireland suppose to read Martins brain and know he would walk out on the team forever?

but he corrected himself and fixed the problem. I dont know about any or you guys, but I want a GM who can fix unexpected problems. You?

I believe that McKinnie could have been signed earlier; not necessarily before the season started (which should have been done as Martin has never looked to be starting material and they considered Albert, but I'll give this a pass), but early in the bye week. Actually, I'm not blaming Ireland for this one... it's all on Philbin and Sherman. They did nothing, not even giving other players a chance, while the o-line gave up sacks at a recording-setting pace and blocking was terrible. The poor play of the o-line was evident in preseason. Did Philbin ask for or demand better linemen? No, he repeated over and over that he believed in these guys. McKinnie wasn't brought in until after the meeting with Ross, which IMO means that Philbin/Sherman were willing to continue with the original 5 starters no matter what.

We'll never know if personnel changes on the line earlier might have given the team more wins, but I'm certain that better o-line play would have extended a LOT more drives.

Here's a another take. If he doesn't waste the pick on Martin this is moot. So before we say he corrected an error you can't overlook that original error.
