Props to our Defense last night, but something that's been driving me crazzy...

The defense literally won the game for us, I know, and I think they're a pretty solid unit when healthy. I just have never seen so many 3rd and 8+ yard conversions. It really seems to be their achilles' heel.

I'm at the point where I prefer to see us trying to get off the field in a 3 and 3 yards or less situation, rather than a 3rd and 8+ yard situation. Drives met nuts!

I know there were a few 3rd and 10's converted and a 3rd and 16 late in the game. I don't know what the deal is.
 
Its been this way for years. It's infuriating. I've gotten to the point that I expect all 3rd and longs to be converted just so I won't be disappointed.
 
Yea, I went to bed thinking thank god for the D.....4 turnovers 2 in the red zone, a pick 6 and a safety and we had to win in OT lol.......but half of the problem was the D, they couldn't get off the field. I thought the 3rd quarter was going to kill them, but they sucked it up and battled to the end.....a big win against a good team on a short week.....

Careful... there are people here who really don't like it when we talk about things like this.
 
That is the most troubling thing about this defense. You get them to third and long just like you want and it seems the other team gets the first down most times.
 
Defensively, prior to the Bengals game, the Dolphins were 30th in the league in plays per drive, and 24th in the league in yards per drive.
