Prosecutor Stefano Palazzi asked the sports tribunal at the Olympic stadium in Rome to demote Juventus to Serie C or lower; strip the team of the Serie A titles it won in the past two seasons; and to relegate AC Milan, Fiorentina and Lazio to Serie B.
Along with the demotions, Palazzi requested the teams be docked points next season: six for Juventus, three for AC Milan, and 15 for Lazio and Fiorentina. He also requested bans for several officials.

If Italy win Sunday all this will be "worked" out

You think? I think regardless of the result on Sunday, they'll have to tackle at least the perception of corruption by doing something dramatic about this (stripping of titles and demotion).

At least I hope they do.

Buffon has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but said he will honor his contract with Juve....IMO, he should jump ship asap. Also, it would be sad to see the likes of Cannavaro and Zambrotta and Viera end their careers in the low leagues...although Zambrotta could be heading to Barca

I was watching Valdano and Menotti today, and they said hat there will be no amnistiy about it even if italy wins. Juve will be relegated.

I like Buffon and Real is my team, but we have Casillas...

Buffone would be an improvement over Casillas quite frankly.

Casillas is also arguable one of the Top GKs in the World....

Sure, I'm sure you could make the case, but I honestly have never liked Casillas, and think Buffon is much more special.

Casillas said he's not going to re-sign if Buffon gets on board. That was what prompted Buffon to say he wasn't going to Real. Don't want to turn this into a Real thread, but they're getting ridiculous. They're also trying to sign Joaquin and Ronaldo as well as a bunch of others.

As for Juve, I'm sure a bunch of players will jump ship if they get demoted. They have a lot of older players who I don't see sticking around in Serie C. Del Piero said he'd stay though.

It would be the funniest thing ever if these teams got relegated

Since they are going all the way down to Serie C, they would have to win that, and then win Serie B... so at least 2 years.

Just remember, there is precedent for this, so relegation because of match fixing isn't that unusual in Italian soccer. In 1980 AC Milan and Lazio were relegated to Serie B for match fixing.
