From Bama I planned to watch:
Terrence Cody (one of my favorite players)
Rashad Johnson (everyone here raves about him)
Julio Jones (not eligible but amazing talent as #1 WR)
Andre Smith (didn't play and the reason for UTAH's pass rushing success)
And honestly i didn't know any of the Utah players except Sakoda the K/P Specialist and Sean Smith
I learned alot about some of the Utah players and Bama guys.
Terrence Cody looked very lazy, like he ate 7 cheeseburgers before the game. He was occupied by only a center or a guard, and double teams weren't often needed. He doesnt play 2/3rds the game against a pass heavy team. He's a big guy, and I love his YouTube clips, but I'd rather have a BJ Raji, Ron Brace or some 6'3 230+ quicker NT type. Cody isn't very athletic.
Andre means alot to his team, and their OT depth is weak.
Rashad Johnson seems alright, he wasn't in the TV frame much of the game, maybe cuz the ball never came his way. They picked on #3 (Forgotten Name) all game long. (Do not draft this guy) Rashad hit guys pretty hard, low and at a good angle but dives more than wraps-up in tackles.
Julio Jones will be a top 15 pick in 2011
As for Utah I knew a little about Sean Smith, I read on some draft site he was a 4.4 40 guy that was 6'3 and sturdy. Wow i really want this kid in our secondary. He played man on Julio Jones all game and won the battle IMO. Julio wasn't much of a factor when normally he is they're best receiving option. Julio is 6'5 and can burn, he looks like TO on the field. With Moss, Evans and other tall AFC receivers in our schedule, we need a tall guy to man up. Jason Allen can't do it, he's not a bad player, but is clearly backup material and shouldn't have been drafted at #15 in '06. Sean Smith can be attained in the 3rd round, maybe even 4th but his stock just rose nationally. Sean also caused a sack and FF in 4th quarter on a DB blitz where he played a OLB position. Guy has alot of abilty, hits very hard, has great measureables and gets pumped on the field.
Sakoda, eh... not a great punter, great kicker tho..
Utah passing game - Athletic QB, smart decision maker, he's like a mixture of Seneca Wallace and Pennington. Spread the ball all over to a bunch of over acheiving WR's similar to the Dolphins WR Corp. Bryant Johnson, he won the MVP of game and deserved it, he did a great job today.
Stevenson Slyvestor - Kid ate up the LT all day. Andre Smith was suspended, Their starting LT got injured in 1st quarter and they moved their RT to LT and started some doofus at RT. Utah had 8 sacks, alot comming from the edge since BAMA hadn't game planned enough for their backup Tackles. We could get this guy maybe in the 6th something round... I've never heard of him so i dunno his projection, I'm just guessing.
So I'm leaning away from Cody, and salivating over Sean Smith. Rashad is welcome on the Phins too, as long as he isn't a reach when we pick him. I would not take him with our 2a (Skins) pick. I would with our 2b.
