Thought of this question as I was staring into the abyss last night but wanted to wait until the message board was more stable. Since it's often a matter for debate, I will clarify what I mean by franchise QB for this polls.
1) Someone who consistently finishes in the top 5-10 QBs each year for the majority of his career.
2) Someone who is at least in the discussion for the Pro Bowl for most years.
3) Someone who consistently helms a high powered offense.
4) Someone who, when they retire, is at least in the discussion by biased home town fans for Hall of Fame consideration.
Not necessarily a sure-fire Hall of Famer or even a borderline one, just someone who we wouldn't get laughed at for promoting. In short, a really good QB. Just putting this preamble out there to try and head off arguments for what a franchise QB even means, though that may be futile.
